IU vs Louisville Game Thread

Recommended Posts

Kind of of topic but just out of curiosity what is the rest of Hoosier nations opinion on uofl? I live across the river from Louisville and I personally hate them as much as I do Purdue.

I live close to louisville too. I've traditionally never cared either way, but since they won the championship there's been an influx of "diehard" fans. I hate bandwagoning and i take that dislike out on the school as a whole lol

Our offense hasn't really been the problem.  In fact, we have looked better offensively against the better teams we've played.  The two times I have seen Louisville play they have looked very beatable.  In my opinion, they are nowhere near the team they were with Smith and Hancock.  For me the game will turn on the defensive end, the boards, and how the officials call the game.  The X-factor for us to be in the game at the end is Holt in my opinion.

They're about 4th or 5th on my hate list after UK, Cuse/Wisconsin, and maybe UNC

I live in New Albany (directly across from Louisville) and nowadays even Southern Indiana is sadly way more about UofL/UK than IU. Since I live in the midst of those fandoms, it's hard not to develop an affection for U of L just based on their UK rivalry alone.

In a normal game, it just depends on who they're playing. Generally I'll root for them unless they're playing an underdog giving them a run for their money, because those are just fun to watch. I generally don't have a problem with Louisville and feel like our fandoms are more similar than dissimilar (i.e., united by our white-hot hatred of pUKe.)

I work in Louisville. I agree with you and Scohutch. I feel like we have a common ground with the Cardinal fans, a hatred for pUKe. I can tolerate the UofL fans. I can cheer for the Cards as longs as Indiana is good. If the Hoosiers are losing, I want everyone else to lose also.

Matchup speaking, IU should give UL a run for their money. The neutral court worries me though. All home games thus far and it's always interesting to see how a team will play for their first road game, even if it's a neutral site. I'm hoping for a huge upset that would REALLY help tournament chances.

I pronounce it Lewis Vile. People there universally hate it, so I can tell I'm doing it right.
