IU vs Louisville Game Thread

Recommended Posts

Louisville struggles to score due to their inconsistent shooting. If we can score 70+ points, I don't know that they could catch up. Even with Harrell inside.

They're number 1 in defensive efficiency to our 155th but only 24th in offensive efficiency to our 11th. So, if we can get that far then I think you're right. They'll struggle to catch up. Last night they were at 0.97 points per possession, we were at 1.27 ppp. Though, Pitt's D can't even compare. It's going to be quite the game. KenPom has us at 15% to win, if we come out and beat Savannah by like 40 maybe we'll be more appreciated.

Louisville be like: "Oh, you beat Savannah by 40? We smashed em by 60!" Well, 61 to be exact. To beat a team by 61 and hold them to 26 points will likely be the most crushing victory of the year.

That a team like Savannah scored on Vile at all is impressive. They had a 1.18 ppp but held Savannah to 0.35. Crazy. 0 of 16 beyond the arc, 29% 2-point shooting.

No team has broken 1 ppp against them. That's how they win. It's going to be intense and the first real test of our offense.

You're right, it will be intense. I know OSU is supposed to be pretty good, but I would venture to say we have more offensive potency than they do. I don't think we're better than OSU...especially defensively, but I'm guessing we put up more than 55 on UL. I also think we break that 1 ppp barrier. But I still think we probably lose.

Why are we so worried about matching up with them.. who is going to keep up with Yogi, Rojo and Blackman at the same time. Not sure why Harrell out weighs our 3 shooters to be honest. All we gotta do is attack harrel and shot our normal percentage. We just played the best rebounders in the nation.

I'm surprised their offense is ranked that high. They just didn't not look that impressive on offense. Very good defensive effort though.

Eh, against UK, go Louisville. Any other time, shoot them cardinals down.

I'm not from southern Indiana and I can understand the hatred down there. I will admit I've sort of been a little bit of a fan of the Cards over the years. Started as a kid watching those Crum teams in the early 80's. Hoosiers are #1 for sure. We visit friends in Louisville from time to time and I wouldn't mind catching a game at the Yum Center just for the heck of it. Any team that is a thorn in the side of UK is good for me.

I went last year to the Garden to see them play UConn. There were a ton of IU fans there. Very LOUD and large IU contingent! It was great! More IU fans than UCOnn. It was like a game in Assembly Hall. I am going again this year to the Louisville game. Cant wait till Tuesday!!

When I was a kid they were my second favorite team. Then they forced Crum out and hired Sextino.
