The holes in this roster are baffling

Last year we had no shooters. This year no big men. It looks like in two seasons we won't have a true PG. Even with Fischer transferring, this is inexcusable for any team, especially for a program like ours. This is like Ohio State football not having any WRs one year, or Florida State with no RBs. In what world can a D1 coach compile a roster this incomplete for multiple years?

I'd be interested to know if the big men from EWU and Lamar had years of basketball experience or were projects like Hanner, PJ, or April.

Lyles' father screwed us over. Luke was unhappy with the culture on IU's team last year. I can't say I blame him for that.

Crean signs big men and never sets up any offense for them. Vonlegh is a perfect example of that. No idea why any center would want to come play for Crean

Can't blame either kid. Lyles get a chance to play for a title in college then be a lottery pick even if he sits the bench. Luke didn't want to be a part of party central.

Agree, I don't think we need 5 star centers (though that would be nice).  The kid from EWU was of average ability but man he wanted to play hard, and he did.  He just never let up.  Screens, passes, rebounds -- he did it with intelligence and heart more than with any fancy athletic skills (other than his size).  We really ought to be able to get a guy like that at the very minimum.

2 6'8" recruits have already signed Letters of Intent... at least he's working to fix the problem with guys that aren't projects. Plenty of recruiting left to be done, as well.
