rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Yeah--mdn82--I'm with you on this. He is maybe the best ranked big we have a real shot at in 2015. Although he's not my first choice--I like him and he has great potential. It's funny how Crean can't win with our fanbase---if we get Morgan he won't be good enough. If we don't get him they will whine that Crean hasn't recruited enough quality back up bigs to have ready on the roster for when we miss on a top ranked big. I trust Crean and Martin's eye on this one! theriverpilot, scots07, bnkepner and 3 others 6 Quote

Rojo is gonna be one of those special, special Hoosiers. I know what Jimbo is bringing this year. I absolutely can not wait to see what Rob does for us. Hopefully Juwan following him doesn't mean what it meant for the last 10 recruits that did this to us. rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Now some wheels are in motion....I like it. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I like that it's RoJo because RoJo should be around a little longer and get to play with Morgan! I fear this comittment may mean the staff knows Troy is NBA likely for this year and they are looking for someone else to help in the front court. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Just hope Matta and Izzo aren't on the phone with him! Quote

I trust Crean and Martin's eye on this one! I don't think this is true. I doubt most guys that have been critical of Crean are very good with signing Morgan. Morgan was a guy we targeted early, is a four star and is listed as a PF. If he comes in and is slow to develop initially like HP was then yeah people may get impatient but that has more to do with our desire to win. Crean needs both immediate contributors and guys than can develop over time. If Morgan is a develop over time guy that is fine but being a 4* kid you would assume he should be further ahead and can contribute in year 1. I would have more of a problem if we lose yet another guy we have targeted and prioritized. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Just checked his national rankings again---87/63/97/105 Just watched all youtube videos I could find including one titled "Juwan Morgan---Dunkaholic" by KU Kansas Shiver. Just read all scouting reports I could find---plays mostly inside but range out to 3 point line--runs floor well--emerging as a defender who can block shots--good bounce and length. A lot to like. I trust Crean and Martin on this one. Sign him up! Crimson and Cream 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Good find Diadem! Maybe Marni knows something! :D Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I've always liked Morgan. Think he has Watford type potential. Think he's a good guy too. Would be a solid start to 15 if we are lucky. Remember he was EYBLs most improved player. If that growth continues his 60-100 ranking could end up 25-40. Plus I like Shake too. Hope we can ROJO the crystal ball here Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners rebelhoosier848891, maxwell, mamasa and 2 others 5 Quote
Popular Post Stuhoo Posted September 7, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 7, 2014 You all are forgetting one of the truly stellar things about Juwan Morgan and Shake Milton: In addition to being top 100 players, they are both great students, have parents instead of handlers, and are exactly the type of players that will immediately contribute to a culture of character on the IU bball team. I like the Holt and Zeisloft pickups for the same reason, and the quality of Rojo's work ethic and character cannot be understated! Whoever gets Juwan and Shake are getting great people into their program. bnkepner, Walking Boot of Doom, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 12 others 15 Quote
Hovadipo Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 why do you keep saying Howard? His name is Morgan....hmmm not trying to correct you just wondering. I always catch myself doing it too. Juwan Howard..Fab 5..gets me all the time. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote

Juwan is far more athletic than CWat, and has nowhere near the soft outside touch. CR3AMnCR1MS0N and rebelhoosier848891 2 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Great post Stuhoo---chemistry and character are big factors too and he told one IU writer tonight that he liked interacting with our present team. I also like that he likes playing inside--we need more bigs like that! He also could help us with Shake. Stuhoo and CR3AMnCR1MS0N 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Watfords outside touch improved vastly in his time as a Hoosier. My point was Morgan is a 6'9" player who will play inside but will stretch his game out to the 3 much like Watford. But yes you are right in your analysis and I agree. rebelhoosier848891 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Sorry Napleshoosier for mixing Howard and Morgan on you! I am an IU grad from the fab 5 era and the Juwan I remember was Howard who played for UM. Slip of the tongue....I'll try to start saying Juwan instead! On a side note--we beat the fab 5 every time we played them---was sweet! Quote
Hovadipo Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Going through twitter after searching Juwan Morgan. Here are some of my favorites. (I'm really bored): @Coach_Rick57: Everything seems so easy for 6'8 Juwan Morgan of Mokan Elite. High skill set that is matched with effort and intensity #PeachJam @Future150: MoKan Elite got a nice lift today from 2015 PF Juwan Morgan. High academic, springy 6'8" post. Solid rebounder & runs the floor. #EYBL @EvanDaniels: MOKAN Elite has two very intriguing prospects -- Juwan Morgan & Malik Milton. Morgan a 6-8 active PF. Milton a 6-4 wiry guard that can score @EvanDaniels: Juwan Morgan is giving Southern Stampede the business. Four jump shots + three plus one put backs. He's coming on as a player. @PositiveVille: One day, once he's a famous basketball player, you'll be able to say you went to school with Juwan Morgan ......(Gotta love small schools with really good basketball players. This was from an account made by someone from his high school.) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners rebelhoosier848891 and Stuhoo 2 Quote
