It's a different story with Duke at full strength. I feel IU was the better team against KU when they were allowed to play. (All 4 minutes of the game) It's only a few games but IU could be a legit Final Four team. Also, MSU x2, Wiscy, and pu all have early season losses. MSU is going to have to get healthy and learn to play small ball. Wiscy looked a little different from past Wiscy teams (only saw a little), and pu will always pu when given the opportunity to pu. We should be a legit FF team. This is top to bottom Creans best team at IU. ALASKA HOOSIER and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

Agree, I guess a lot of it depends on the draw though. We better continue to do work in the OOC because the B1G might be "down" again this season. Wiscy and pu lost games they could have won/were favored and MSU looks lost. Quote

Been saying since their injuries MSU is too small to contend for the Big Ten. I haven't gotten to watch Wisconsin yet so not sure what their downfall was. With our versatility we should be able to go at least 14-4 and snag a share or the title. If not more our playing 11 guys is going to come in handy late in the season. Especially for our 2 road games to end the season. HoosierAloha 1 Quote

I didn't watch much of the Wiscy @ Creighton game but it seemed like Wiscy turned it over and shot too many 3s that weren't in the flow of their offense. When we play them, If they want to feature Koenig and perimeter Hayes over Happ and interior Hayes I would be just fine with that. Quote

biteoftheapple Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Also, they had trouble with Creightons strong backcourt. Quote

Certainly seems like we have the most depth. I'll hold off on really backing this statement until we see how our depth holds up against UL and UNC. If JBJ and TB can have Oladipo and Zeller 2012-2013 type years, I completely agree that this is his best team. Those two were so reliable. Additionally, since I went with the comparison, if between Newkirk/RoJo/CuJo we can have at least freshman Yogi type production/facilitation at the PG spot, there is no doubt that this team is better than the 2012-2013 squad. I think this years team has a higher ceiling than the 2012-2013 team. Will they be as consistent? mdn82, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Hopefully a sign they are less disciplined than in in the pastI could live with that. However, we all know that when B1G season rolls around the style of play will be different. Quote
CR3AMnCR1MS0N Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I think this years team has a higher ceiling than the 2012-2013 team. Will they be as consistent? I personally see considerably more depth in this team than 2012-13's. That team only really went 7 men deep, and had no big behind Zeller of playing significant, productive minutes. This year we already have 4 capable guards (Newkirk, Blackmon, Johnson and Jones), two capable stretch wings (OG and Juwan) and it looks like 2 bigs (Bryant and Davis). That's 8 deep, with more balance and versatility. That's without Collin Hartman and not including Green, who has shown shooting talent in one of the exhibitions. Maybe McSwain can develop into a decent role player too.And there's always MSB... just kidding WayneFleekHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
IUsafety Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 What is the possibility that Harry Giles takes Jay Williams advice and focuses on rehab this year and not playing for Duke. Prepare for the NBA draft and not get injured. Would it hurt his draft status if he did this. Of course playing could hurt it. He may get exposed and not be as good as advertised or get injured again.Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote
