Oh man -- sad news. He's from very near where I grew up. 

Guy made hundreds of millions of dollars, and not from basketball. Was a very astute businessman.

Sad as it is, it seems a little poetic that he went out at a luncheon for a charity. He seemed to spread his money around to a lot of causes.
