A Purdue problem this year in microcosm. This guy says Loyer is “getting his own shot.” This is literally a miscommunication on the screen that Loyer turned into a contested 6 footer that he made. He’s not beating any decent defender off his bounce. They are really gonna struggle this year against solid ball pressure.

The guard following him trips over the foot of the first screener, and then Furst does a nice job pushing the Yale big completely out the play and under the rim. 

Getting a shot? Yes. Getting his own shot? lol

Also worth noting; with a minute left in the game and Purdue up by about six, Loyer was STILL getting subbed out for defensive possessions.

Honest answer? Because IU has absolutely sucked for the better part of 3 decades. 
 

We’re supposed to be the top brand in basketball in the B1G. We’re supposed to be in those games. But we’re no where near those other teams whereas MSU has a championship Coach, regularly compete for the conf title and has had routine FF runs.  
 

If this thing were held in the 70s, 80s or 90s IU would absolutely be the fourth (maybe the first) team, but we can’t be counted on to put out a high level team consistently over the last 20 years.

The truth is the MSU AD set this up. He's the one that dreamed it, called KU, UK, and Duke to arrange it, etc.

The person who came up with the champions classic idea is a Michigan St alum.  They will always be a part of it.   UConn should be in it they have the most  Championships in  the last 25 years

Towson 21, S. Carolina 34 with 4 minutes left in the first half.  SC started slowly, sloppy.  But warmed up and are hitting at a high clip.  Turnovers by Towson are killers.  SC did not hit frees in first game loss.  Hitting them now.  14 fouls for Towson...

At the half, 26 to 43.  Towson is outclassed.  Defense by SC is good.  Fast break on TOs are smooth.  Passing well.  Stick a fork in this game.
