Obviously glad to see Illinois start the conference season off 0-2 but this is another reason I hate these mid December conference games.  You are supposed to use the non-conference games to prepare for the conference slate and throwing them into the middle of non-conference play.

Hopefully with the Big 10/ACC ending and hopefully following by the ending of the Gavitt Games, the conference will start at the end of December and teams will be able to put a couple more non-conference earlier.

Illinois prob rather have a PSU win than that Texas win

Maybe, but the NCAA will likely have it as a wash assuming that Penn State ends in the top 75 in NET.  Right now they are at 77 prior to the game but will be top 75 now.

If Penn State is top 75, the Texas game is a quad 1 and Penn State is a quad 2.  beating Texas and losing to Penn State is a quad 1 win and quad 2 loss.  Reversing the results would be a quad 2 win and quad 1 loss.  I think the NCAA committee actually prefers a quad 1 win and quad 2 loss to a quad 1 loss and quad 2 win.  I think as long as the loss doesn't drop down to Q3 or Q4 it won't be considering a bad loss by the commitee.

Facts, but I'd rather win the conference.

Same, but the NCAA has said that they don't look at conference standings for seeding.

What's the difference between a 3 seed and a 4 seed?  Nobody will remember that.

Everyone remembers conference titles.

I was thinking more from a B1G title race perspective but I agree about your points

I know I won’t get any love for this . Purdue looks like the best team in the country to me. There freshmen guards don’t look like freshmen. I believe this is Painters best team ever.

Purdue has looked very good this year, but I'm not sure that today's effort really supports that thought.
