When you have a stud wing that will be a lottery pick you can miss 1 of 13 FGs and then the next 2 possessions score 6.   Murray is a stud

I always find it amusing when I hear people say "I don't want to be like UK." They had a 5-star point guard de-commit this weekend. No matter, they have another one coming in. Think of what a mess this board would be if Hood-Schifino dropped us right now. We get a 5 star recruit and it's a huge deal; we never get more than one in a class, meanwhile UK practically recycles 5-star recruits and doesn't even have to put much effort into getting them. 

 

But yeah, we don't want to be like UK. It's much more fun to recruit in the 100-150 range and then wonder why we don't win more. 

We will never have a chance to be an elite program again until we steadily bring in good talent.

Small conference tournaments can be brutal. Louisiana was the 8 seed in the Sun Belt.  They have underperformed all year. When we played them there were some that thought they would give us a game because they had talent.  They beat the 1 seed yesterday and are about to take out Troy the 4 seed and will be playing for the auto-bid tomorrow.   

Meanwhile...I just took a peek at the MAC tourney field. Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan were so bad, they didn't even qualify. Ouch.

Yeah you break down IU’s non con sos more and it’s dreadful.   If they get left out they have no one to blame but themselves for that scheduling

IU to face the worst possible opening round matchup other than Illinois.  We play Michigan on Thursday, they bombarded us at Assembly Hall in January back when they weren’t playing well.  Now they are playing better and we been limping through the end of the season.  Also, if we win, we get another kick in the groin because we might have to play Illinois.  We can’t catch a break.  That is the two worst back to back draws we could ever have.

FTs in the second half.   Murray’s brother went 0-3 at one point
