LamarCheeks Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 The No. 32 ranked player in the 2022 class just decommitted from Michigan State because he sees a logjam in their frontcourt. BTW, he's 6-10 and 240 pounds and is from Canada. Hey Enoch -- we got no logjam anywhere. Come on down! WayneFleekHoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 This is why I don't have a problem not recruiting high 5 stars. It's bad enough only having them 1 year, but now this. Maybe part of it is Duke may not go to Tournament. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk Quote

Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk From the angles shown there, I didn't think so as well. The first angle was behind the play and the second video started after the contact. But the best view was an overhead shot they had which showed him leading with his elbow......not saying he was intentionally trying to elbow him in the head, but he definitely was trying to clear space with his elbow. And it was really unnecessary -- Smith never left the floor and isn't any kind of shot blocker anyway. My thing is that regardless of whether he was trying to hit him in the head, it was clear he was clearing space with his elbows -- something that is a flagrant foul. And there is enough in his background that I don't think he deserves any benefit of the doubt. woodenshoemanHoosierfan and johnsoniu 2 Quote

cappymo14 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Would love to be a fly on the wall in those draft interviews when he's asked why he quit on his team. Talent wins in the NBA, but that's not a good look. Another case of a badly bruised ego.Nope. I know he and his family personally. My son was in his class at Sun Prairie high and were on the team for football/basketball. He has been at my house. I used to play pickup flag football games with the boys in the vacant lot behind our house. Great kid. Doesn’t matter how it looks. Give him 30 seconds in an interview and nobody will remember he opted out. He’s that likable. He got hurt. Doesn’t want to have it happen again. I can say this. Jalen needs to get to the league, and needs to be healthy. Many people depend on it.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Str8Hoosiers, kreigh8, Alford Bailey and 2 others 4 1 Quote

To get there, we would have to crawl under that fence. I watched Jalen jump over that fence with my own eyes. I also beat Jalen in a one on one tournament we had with Chris and his friends during an open gym at the middle school. The winning shot was a miracle baseline three while falling out of bounds. None of those boys could beat me until they were 16. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Str8Hoosiers, Josh and HoosierAloha 2 1 Quote

At the time I thought he was just being a dick. Then I had my kid and realized why......pretty much have one gear when you get older and its not enough to keep up. I had no first step anymore.....so I had to do the same things my dad was doing just to make it competitive against my son in sports that involved any kind of speed. cappymo14 and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

One thing I remember clearly was when the kids got a little older and started to fill out a bit, there was a rule change I implemented (in the middle of play) that reduced the games from 21pts to 10pts. It was explained that (time) was the reason. Had nothing to do with stamina whatsoever.....this rule may or may not have been a key to success. I'm not watching the game and haven't seen Purdue play this year (missed their game against us).....I know that his stats are pretty good for the time he plays, but assume his lack of speed is an issue that can be exploited. Am I on target? Quote

Am I on target? Definitely. He’s late to everything, even in the halfcourt (which leads to his constant foul trouble) and terrible around the basket. (I don’t know his numbers, just based on what I’ve watched) I do understand his place in their system and know he’ll be a pain in the butt in a year or two, so that’s why I’m getting my shots in while he’s a newborn deer.
