I can confirm through a source that ESPN will not be holding its annual 24-hour tip-off marathon this season. Future plans are unknown.

If this it true I’m very disappointed

Always looked forward to this

Probably don't have enough employees left to do it anymore!

Interesting article from Tom Davis at the FW News-Sentinel on Cooper Neese's sudden departure from Butler.   One of the quotes from LaVall Jordan:  “It comes down to fit,” Jordan said of his recruiting philosophy. “You have to have guys that want to be here and understand; guys that understand and appreciate Butler and what it is about.”

Certainly not a unique quote and pretty typical of coachspeak but something I think those of us on the outside tend to overlook when we're drooling over vid clips and game stats of possible recruits.  Some kids no matter how good they may be just don't fit our program.

The other thing in the article was a mirror reference to one of our former players in terms of performance in the IU-KY all-star games.  "Now one game – or even one series – can not be used as a fair assessment of a player’s total ability to perform, but when a Big East recruit is having a hard time getting on the floor in a high school exhibition filled with mid-level recruits, there is no denying that it is noteworthy."  Substitute Big Ten recruit for Big East and who comes to mind?

From the games I watched of Cooper he was far a better prospect then Gelon. I still feel he could contribute to a High major team or be a star at a mid major. Keep in mind Cooper played on a loaded Aau team with Wilkes and Scruggs and had moments where he stood out on the aau circuit even with other D1 teammates

Cooper has a very quick release and endless range. Hope he lands somewhere where he gets to shine.

Seton Hall will have four players --- Carrington, Rodriguez, Sanogo, and Delgado --- who will all be three-year starters. A rarity. #shbb
Jon Rothstein

This will be a huge test at the beginning of the season. While they will probably start out ranked 20-25, Seton Hall in my opinion have a chance to be a top 15 team and more importantly a top 25 rpi team

Wrong time to draw Seton Hall. But it's a opportunity to make a statement, I guess.

More potentially ugly news in college basketball.

Saint Louis University is conducting a Title IX review and police are investigating following allegations of sexual assault against four men's basketball players.

I tell you this is the year of Title IX cases that have been filed by many schools for different reasons some not involving sexual misconduct. I have a personal experience with Title IX involving my sister and the way it was handled was unlike anything I have ever witnessed.

He was incredibly fun to watch in high school. I see him going to ISU. I’m not sure how the eligibility thing will work out though.
