Purely rational and objective Dickie V*: IU men #14; TJD POtW!

Duke, Purdue take top two spots in Dick Vitale's Top 25, Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis top player (espn.com)

*Vitale, 82, just returned to announcing games after battling melanoma...a very emotional time for him.  And, as an aside, ESPN continues in the effort to regain any credibility by sensationalism and subjective analysis?  Huh?

I’m watching the replay of the Big academy of art win.   It’s on espn +.   Front of their jerseys say Art U.  Lol

Home announcers for UC Davis early in this game talking about it was good for UC Davis to play the D2 team to get back to Aggie basketball after 2 losses.   With UC Davis down 14 with 2 min to go in first half they are taking about the gap between D1and D2 isn’t as wide as it’s been in years past and Art U has D1 talent (2 transfers from D1).    Guess they didn’t get back to Aggie basketball.  Lol

Walk-ons may get a little playing time tonight for the Illini.

Rothstein:  Illinois' Andre Curbelo (undisclosed), Trent Frazier (leg), Jacob Grandison (illness), and Benjamin Verdonk (flu) are all "highly unlikely" to play tonight against Notre Dame, per Brad Underwood.

And Rothstein's walking wounded report for O$U:  Ohio State's Justice Sueing (abdominal) is "weeks away" from returning, per Chris Holtmann. Seth Towns (back) is expected to return in mid-to-late December. Eugene Brown (concussion) is day-to-day.

At first Curbelo was allegedly out with a concussion.

Then he was practicing in full.

Then he was out for undisclosed reasons, and Underwood said it isn’t a concussion.

Strange days for the Illini.

Duke would have a good case, but I think most of the voters would give it to Purdue. Duke has been ranked #1 too often.

Well, I was wrong on this one. A lot of casual fans hate Duke basketball and Purdue is a shiny new toy, but apparently the voters didn't see it that way.
