Duke is 6-3 in Q1 games this year. Auburn is 16-2 in Q1 games. The league being so bad hurt Duke in the area however they are going to be #2 overall 1 seed so they will be on opposite sides of Auburn I think them being 2nd overall is an acknowledgment of the talent on their team. They def do not deserve #1 overall in light of what Auburn has put together this season. Just don’t have the volume of Q1 wins in the ACC and when they started in November the freshmen played like freshmen, so lost games late to UK and KU — both of whom I think they’d beat pretty easily now. Just 5 miles from my house in the missed approach to WPAFB. Pass on Brownell. Now, Archie Miller was great. Obviously, stuff like that does not translate into the BIG TIME. And I questioned Archie's hire...but was hopeful I did not question Tom Crean's hire...I was against it. I did not understand Woodson's hire. Mike Davis was so wrong. Sampson was interesting. But IU blew it by not providing oversight. And Sampson could not put the cell phone down. Sad. Indiana had to really try to skewer IU men's basketball brand. They should be proud. Herbert, your actions are still perceived as not in the interests of Indiana University. Who will be the next body that we can burn in effigy? HoosierDevils 1 Quote

Beat Duke and went to the Elite 8 last year would be the argument and still has this tourney to prove what he can do. Not on my list however he will be on some HoosierDevils 1 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted March 4 Posted March 4 I just can be a fan of Nic Martenilli. Flops to get foul calls and complains everytime he gets called on himself. Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Northwestern on an 11-0 run in about the last two and half minutes. UCLA's lead down to 3 with 33.4 seconds left. Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted March 4 Posted March 4 NOrthwestern absolutely hacking the hell out of UCLA...no call. One point game. Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Martinelli miss, UCLA steal and breakaway. Northwestern intentional foul on the breakaway. Quote
Dave from Dayton Posted March 4 Posted March 4 9 hours ago, HoosierDevils said: This may be a topic for another thread — or until they have another game — but I wonder your take on Archie Miller’s performance at URI? Sorry. I have no insight to Archie Miller's performance at URI that can't easily be found online. It was hell while he was at Indiana. I have no appetite to follow his coaching anymore. Having said that, I wish him well. I do perk up when Rhode Island plays Dayton. 5 days ago, they played out east. Rhode Island jumped to a 10 point lead and was flying to the hoop...hitting 2s. Dayton went to a zone and later changed that but Rhode Island got behind by 20 at home. RI could not hit and turned the ball over. Let's say that he has been rebuilding at Rhode Island. But this is his 3rd year. Rhode Island Rams (Atlantic 10 Conference) (2022–present) 2022–23 Rhode Island 9–22 5–13 14th 2023–24 Rhode Island 12–20 6–12 T–10th 2024–25 Rhode Island 17–11 6–10 Rhode Island: 38–53 (.418) 17–35 (.327) Rhode Island is doing better this year in non-conference and at home. But on the road they are a disaster. Seems that they are a touch better every year. But, of course, fans want more wins. And they want to sniff the NCAAT. His teams are struggling and just can't make it into the top half of the conference. This is Miller's 3rd year at Rhode Island. They don't get any big wins against the top teams. They also need road wins in conference and only have one. Rhode Island only has a couple of good players. Same thing will happen next year unless they can bring in a PG from the portal while keeping the core players. From the outside, looks like Miller's on court game coaching is failing, again. He will have one more year there... The only real litmus I have is in watching Dayton vs Rhode Island. Dayton has better players and is better coached. But is it because Rhode Island doesn't have the horses? Or is it the coach? Archie Miller really does rely on good guards to defend and put the ball into the offense. I have not seen him with a good PG in 7 years. Fans realize that getting players is hard. But they did expect the teams to be exceptionally well coached. That is not happening. A lifetime ago, I lived in eastern Connecticut...Groton. Was assigned to submarine service on a fast attack. We would regularly hit some really splendid restaurants overlooking the beaches. Visited Cape Cod. And the history in that area is incredible. The sea casts a spell over everything. Until you have to live in it. HoosierDevils 1 Quote

Being over ranked to begin the season and missing on portal guards. They are a middle of the pack Big 12 team this year. 7-10 range for the ncaa tourney Quote

LamarCheeks Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Florida Gulf Coast loses to Queens in the Atlantic Sun tourney. Queens kid tries to throw it down after the buzzer. FGCU's Pat Chambers (formerly of the Ninny Lions) gets snippy and refuses to shake the Queens coach's hand and sorta goes after the kid who tried to dunk -- before an assistant pushes him away. Unless there was some stuff going on during the game, I don't see what got Chambers' panties in such a twist. https://x.com/mid_madness/status/1896798760249991665 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) Norlander and Parrish at the end of their pod discuss Indiana vs Texas job. these guys have disparaged the job Woodson has done since year 2. They know Archie sucked. The say Texas job is better because there is less pressure. Get the hell out of here with that take. Texas pushed 2 of the best coaches in the game out. Rick Barnes and Shaka Smart. Both Indiana coaches are stinking up the joint all over the place after Indiana and Woodson doesn’t even need described. these guys have a nice pod but their hatred for Indiana and it’s fanbase is ludicrous. At some point you have to step back and realize the nonsense that is coming out of your mouth. Now: if you want to debate weather, ADs, local talent, NIL and other things that’s fine but this narrative about Indiana is driving me crazy. Look at our results and ROI. Be reasonable.
