They are having a terrible season. They’re almost last in 3p% and they take a lot of them. Bad combo.

A couple of saving graces: they are young and have played a decently tough schedule so far. Lots of Indiana kids. I wonder if he hits the state hard in recruiting. I could see them being good in a couple of years.

I'm really rooting for him at ND. Being up here in the South Bend area makes me root for them to be good so I have a way to catch some good games in person.

Mostly though, I'm hoping he kills it at ND so we have a solid selection of coaches to choose from when Woody hangs it up.

UCLA lost to CSU Northridge…. YIKERS

Now THAT is an ugly loss. Took Northridge from 329 in Kenpom to 245, and UCLA currently has no wins in the top 250.

Didn't really feel that was the job for him. Kind of had Porter Moser written all over it. But he's gonna do as well as admissions will allow.

Did Cronin have the Mike Davis run to the Final Four and water is now finding level

Nah, Cronin’s a good coach. They just lost a bunch of guys and they’re really young. Kind of similar to IU’s situation. They lost Bailey the same way IU lost JHS, and even though he was really highly regarded I don’t think they expected that to be a 1 year deal. Lost Jaquez. Lost Campbell. Some tough early games. Imagine they’ll start figuring it out, but they have some identity issues right now.

Seems like he wanted to be back in Indiana and I remember an article about PSU’s NIL being awful.  I agree ND’s not an easy place to coach, though.

He said not playing hard would get you a seat on the bench; never mentioned shooting terribly.           :)

I get that, but I find it hard to take a guy seriously on playing time when his son hasn’t shot a lick and doesn’t add rebounding or passing seems to get a free pass.

In basketball?  Seems like that is an easy place to coach to me.  They really have had only 3 head coaches in my lifetime and I am 56.

It does seem sorta hypocritical.

I should’ve said “tough place to win.”

If you want to make the tourney half the time and still stick around 20 years, then it isn’t a bad gig. That was basically Brey.
