I know that Yost is trying to claim that it violates ADA laws -- but the NCAA had stated back in January that two-time non graduate transfers would have immediate eligibility denied unless they could adequately prove a medical or safety reason for the transfer. Some transfers have been approved, others denied -- Torvik lists 86 cases and updates which have been approved and which have been denied. Currently 7 approved, 7 denied. Others may have been approved or denied but hasn't been put out there yet. The fact that some transfers are going through says to me that it's not a wholesale denial and that if the documentation and evidence supports it, it is accepted. One of the biggest denials was for Raequan Battle who started his career at Washington before transferring to Montana State where he averaged close to 18 points per game last year. His immediate eligibility waiver was denied to play at West Virginia this year. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Another 2-timer denied. The immediate eligibility waiver for Cal's Jaylon Tyson has been denied by the NCAA. Tyson is a two-time transfer who has previously played at both Texas Tech and Texas. Quote

I remember thinking he would be a good fit for IU if he he got his waiver. Good length for a wing, can shoot. Hardwood83 1 Quote

Might be in the minority on that, though. IMO it did eliminate some other more deserving teams -- some of them from mid majors. The interesting thing is that in the NIT awarding automatic bids to the two highest rated NET teams from the power 6 conferences regardless of record that there is a real possibility that a team with a losing record will get invited to the NCAA tournament. Using that criteria, 15-17 Oklahoma would have been invited last year. Quote

Stuhoo Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Maybe this take will come back to haunt me, but top five nationally UK frosh Justin Edwards looks out of shape and really not great. Kid looks like he hasn’t worked in the weight room. Quote

Used to run a play for John Wall that got him an oop off the baseline seemed like every game. Cal needs to go back and see how MKG scored... And Edwards needs to go watch MKG and see how to be an absolute freak of a collegiate athlete. Quote
