I’m a competitive person and have wanted to punch opposing players, coaches and fans a million times but you just can’t. And you certainly can’t when you are the head coach.

it’s one thing for the players to get into it in the heat of the moment, absolutely ridiculous for coaches after the game is already over

Not going to question you on your actions.  But I’ll say this I wouldn’t have been surprised if I decked him ……. And I thought I was a pacifist.

Maybe this was a strategy to get the entire team suspended so they wouldn't have to lose another game this season? Might have helped their tourney hopes like when they had to postpone games against the top of the conference because they didn't have 7 players available.

Not in this case.   Doesn’t matter how dirty Wisky is or isn’t this comes down to a supposedly lead of young men who has shown a history of becoming a sore loser when things don’t go his way and then falls back on I’m from the south side of Chicago so I had to defend myself against Mark Turgeon and Greg Gard.   This is simple he acted like a clown because things didn’t go his way and he asked his starters to press a bunch of walk ons and then got mad because the other coach decided to coach his team since Howard was clearly not done coaching his team.   Bad look for Howard but nothing new he looked horrible last year when he put himself in the same position.

Post of the day. Howard is a child.

It’s weird. To me he comes across as such a likable, genteel guy. But a coach throwing a punch and starting a brawl is beyond defendable.

Im guessing five games and double secret probation. Kinda a Bob Knight one more strike and you’re out treatment, but with a guy that doesn’t seem to have a hot fuse normally.

While I fully agree with your synopsis of what will likely happen, you ultimately are what your actions are. A staff member ”striking” anyone on the court should be zero tolerance. He realistically should be done. Can’t happen, especially at the collegiate level or below.

Players are another thing. Diabate threw 3 haymakers. Players should be 5 games minimum and up to a career depending on severity, but some degree of leniency is allowable. Diabate’s actions would be borderline e remainder of season if I was in charge. 1 other Michigan player and 1 Wisconsin player threw punches too that I could tell.

Ever since I started watching him coach he just came off as very fake in his his approach.    He definitely wants his image to come off as likable and maybe at first I fell  for it but his actions early on kind of showed you where this was headed with him coaching.  Maybe if I didn’t watch almost all the games he coached I might of fell  for his act but you pick up on little things here and there that show you his true colors.   Just a clown in my opinion and I hope he is gone for the year and I wouldn’t be hurt if he never coached again but that won’t happen.

Easy to say from the comfort of my home, but if I’d made $150M in the league and I thought Wisconsin was constantly cheap and dirty, I’d walk into the presser instead of swinging, and say:
”The max the league can fine me is $10k so you’re going to get your money’s worth. Before every Wisconsin game we show the officiating crew videos of Davison hitting screeners in the balls and making dangerous plays. Then today he does it to our all-American. The league won’t discipline him or the team.
They’ve got coaches on their bench who encourage it, and who goad opponents on. It’s bush league. The conference knows because every other coach and department in the league tells them constantly. They’ve got the videos, so do officials, and they look the other way. I’m telling you all, and I’ll pay the fine, because they won’t change when we use the appropriate channels to file our complaints.
The fine is more than worth it for the attention this will get when you print it. And if anyone wants to chip in, you can Venmo me.”

I like this a lot…. Wisconsin is dirty…….

Instead he threw a punch and started a brawl.

I endorse your thoughts. Woulda been good. Sadly, not what happened.
