If you miss the college basketball environments this year watch Texas Tech at home.    Closest you are going to get to a normal game crowd

Watching that game and they panned to the crowd... all on top of each other, arms interlocked, swaying together!!!! It was GLORIOUS!!!!

One other thing: The First Four.

5 ET (truTV)
6:20 (TBS)
8:30 (truTV)
9:50 (TBS)

So no daytime First Four that Thursday. This also reveals that the NCAA will abide by a 90-minute changeover/cleaning time situation between games in the same venue. (It's normally 40 minutes.)

Have they determined the venue for those first four games? It's normally been at Dayton and on Tuesday and Wednesday IIRC, but clearly that isn't happening.

Bloomington and West Lafayette.

"Michigan men's basketball has postponed Thursday's game against Illinois, extending the program's two-week pause.

It's the fifth consecutive game that Michigan, a top seed in ESPN's Joe Lunardi's latest bracketology, will miss."

5 consecutive games? They need to start forfeiting if this goes on. Can't have Michigan winning the BIG if they miss half their games. Get your program under control.

I think you may be mistaken. It has nothing to do with their program. The state health department shut them down. There were no positive cases within their program.

Curious if they'd considered playing their home games in Indiana. Could perhaps shuttle between South Bend and Valpo. Doubt they'll sit out the tournament but that's a long time to be idle then try and ramp up for an elimination tourney. Get to shake off some rust in the Big tourney but that's a few weeks out still.

It's still college sports, but if Toronto Blue Jays played their home game in America, surely Michigan bball could figure out something. Hadn't been following this story, but that's a long time to not play any games

Yeah the Michigan athletic department had a positive test of the new variant in one of the programs. It wasn't men's basketball, but the health department shut down the entire athletic department for at least 2 weeks. Pretty crazy stuff.
