I honestly had to stop watching that game because the booth reviews were just unbearable.  I think every clock stoppage brought a booth review in the final minute, then that inadvertent whistle and the subsequent review just was too much.

Steve Alford's 6-year run at UCLA might end today. If certain influential people out here in LA have their way, I'm told Steve Alford will be bought out today.

 

McIntyre works for FoxSports but I don't know just how good his sources are

Sadly, there will be a vocal group that truly believes that should happen or worse that we should immediately dump Archie.

I really do feel torn on Alford.  I loved him as a player and what he did while wearing the candystripes.  But the man he became after he graduated is a whole different matter and I have no respect for him.

Those of you that follow Dakich on Twitter or listen to his radio show, please let the rest of us know what he has to say.

Obviously, you don’t understand how most coaching vacancies get filled. UCLA already knows there will be an opening. They get a head start regardless of when Alford resigns or gets fired. Dead man walking.

Pretty sure good coaches aren’t going to wait around when they can get started that much sooner elsewhere. 

Plus pretty sure they can’t actually hire a search firm or talk to any applicants till Alford is gone.

Eddie Fogler. Google what he does then get educated on the process. Alford will be out long before April 30 as I’m sure he wants out as bad as UCLA does. He prob settles in the 2 mil range my guess. UCLA will announce their new coach as soon as his team exits the tournament.

So why didn’t we do that?  And if they are going to negotiate the buy out why not just do it now. And as I said waiting for the buyout to reduce is too long. All you are doing is agreeing while being argumentative.

It’s a message board so opinions are accepted including yours even if misinformed. If you knew of our history in finding coaches you would know about our search firms and Eddie Fogler and buy outs. Alford won’t make it to his and may not make it until the new year.

I never said he would last to the buyout so perhaps you should get a clue before calling people misinformed. And that’s not an opinion. That’s advice.

Archie was brought up on their 247 site which is mostly dead. They have other sites kind of like this for us that had Jay Wright mentioned.
