rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 We may actually be even more competitive then some think in the Big Ten----- by default. Disappointing to see the conference struggling so much. Hello Michigan----and we think we have problems! bnkepner and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Stuhoo Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Not only does Purdue University suck, ...so does their basketball team. The transitive property does NOT apply, but in this case it's fun!! St Peters beats Rutgers who beats Vandy who blows out Purdue. So there. rebelhoosier848891, Walking Boot of Doom and Naturalhoosier 3 Quote

rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Zags over UCLA 87-74 Wiltjer with a big night for Zags---24 points I think. Bryce Alford---big night for Bruins---23 points--2 rebs---3 assists--3 steals WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Surely with the 84-70 loss to UK-----UNC will FINALLY drop out of the top 25. Ranked #21 with 3 losses----Overrated! LazOffTheBench 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Notre Dame is stronger than I expected this year. Ranked #25 and won today 83---63 over FSU. ALASKA HOOSIER and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 OSU 87----More 71 Still not sure I believe OSU is #12 in the country like they are ranked----but at least it's good that some Big Ten teams are winning! bnkepner and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Nebraska and Wiscy win. Coupled with the IU and OSU wins----the Big Ten salvages a little respectability tonight. Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 As Purdue looses by ten at Vandy. Choke! Generally speaking, I root for B10 teams during non-conference...but I make a personal exception to that rule for Purdue. ALASKA HOOSIER, Alabaster Thunder, Napleshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post LazOffTheBench Posted December 14, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 14, 2014 I want to say something about Bob Knight as a color commentator. I don't know if younger fans really appreciate listening to him call a game or not, but when he is talking during a game, he often goes into "teaching mode". It's something that older fans who watched "The Bob Knight Show" and his recorded IU half-time segments will recognize. During those times, he's addressing a general audience who have a wide range of ages and knowledge of the game. He's trying to impart an understanding of the fundamentals of basketball and how the game should be played. Things like defense (!!!), passing, positioning, playing an entire 40 minutes, etc. Yeah, those are things people here know about but the casual weekend fan or the kid in elementary school might not. A lot of those fundamentals are ignored these days in favor of flashy plays that will be shown on SportsCenter. IMO, Knight hasn't "lost it"; he's just a calmer version of the basketball teacher he always was. ALASKA HOOSIER, Alabaster Thunder, GloryDays and 6 others 9 Quote
biteoftheapple Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I watched his show weekly, just to hear him teach the game. He is, and was a great basketball mind. Alabaster Thunder, HoosierHoops1, Alford Bailey and 1 other 4 Quote

OliviaPope40 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Watching Butler and Tennessee and Etherington does not look impressive. Quote
ctown2grhoosier Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I'm sorry but Austin Etherington is not that good of a player. Kinda wondering why he ever got a scholarship to IU. He's a below average defender and an average shooter. bnkepner and HoosierHoops1 2 Quote

TheWatShot Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Kinda wondering why he ever got a scholarship to IU. It feels like we've said that about quite a few of Crean's recruits. I always felt his offer was used to get Zeller here. Alabaster Thunder and bnkepner 2 Quote

He is one of the few commentators that actually knows what he is talking about and is actually teaching about the game when he is calling it. That rarely happens anymore. Wish they had him calling more games. Speaking of commentators, the ones during the IU game were terrible yesterday!! LazOffTheBench 1 Quote
