We will have plenty of fun match ups between DDV and Dusty led teams. I'm sure there will be years they get the best of us and years we get the best of them. I would've loved to hire Dusty when Michigan did but we also don't know for certain he'd want to coach here. Timing just didn't work out. Sucks, but I think we got another really good coach who can be here a long time. And yes, a big ole screw you, to Quinn.

Agreed. And I don't want or mean to sound ungrateful for DDV. I'm super encouraged with what he's doing so far with a patchwork roster. Like it was said last night: We got ourselves a coach. It'll be interesting to see how the recruiting battles play out in the coming years as well.

Dusty put a hell of a roster together this season. The Yaxel addition was HUGE.  Being able to play all 3 bigs together is borderline unfair.  I’m not sold on Cadeau at all but that front court and Dusty as a coach.  I’m sold.

Dusty said the offseason was easy as players wanted to play for Michigan based on results and style.

This is my hope for DDV.  We will need about 3 starter level guys out of the portal including  a PG and Center and maybe a SG as well.

Same. When I watched them early they didn’t get great guard play and looked a tad underwhelming. They seem to have it figured out now. B1G is gonna be brutal this year. Upper teams all seem like that can drop 100 any given night.

To each their own.   For me there is no such thing  as teams I have little interest in.  I have no problem watching any team at anytime.   If I waited until championship week to watch some of these smaller conferences and schools then chances are I missed out on a heck of a game on a Tuesday 5 games into the SoCon regular season.  For me seeing these little guys play all year makes championship week more exciting since I will know which schools can make a run in their conference tourney.   I’m not a regular fan though.   Even in the 90’s I was watching small conference teams year round.   Having an aunt and uncle who had one of those big satellites gave access to channels from around the US.  Going over there and watching West coast games was the best.   Boise States old floor brings those memories back.    ESPN then had the  full court offer that gave you access to all the games for a pay per view type price that I had my parents get and then I got it when I went to college.  Now i have just about every streaming service you can think of just to be able to watch as many games as possible.  My passion for college basketball hasn’t changed since those early days.  I’m known as the college basketball guy and I’m more then ok with that.

I used to be just like that because I only watched college basketball from Nov-April and nothing else. I use to buy 3 or more pre season magazines and read them cover to cover but not today.

I just think all the player movement has made the sport less interesting and it is hard to get to know teams rosters. I use to know all the teams rosters going into the season but today I don't even know the big ten teams rosters.

Lower Middle tier is dangerous too on a given night.  Northwestern, Nebraska.

Rutgers, Penn State, and Minnesota are the only bad teams and I’m not sure Penn State or Minnesota are even THAT bad.

That doesn’t bother me.  I adapted to it and make a game of it.  I like to play the game “where did I remember that player from last year”and the “oh I didn’t know that player was on this team now.

And the game becomes harder the older you get.

The good thing is, most announcers will say “(School) Transfer” every. single. time. they say a guy’s name. Or at least the guys I listened to last night did.

Yeah they definitely like to mention it as much as possible during every broadcast

To me it appears the Player experience tournament will put an end to the Maui classic and the Battle for Atlantis. Just looking at the fields for both of those tournaments makes it look like top teams are choosing not to play in these tournaments. That happened to the Great Alaska shootout.whoch was a huge tournament in the day.

And back in the "glory" days the Great Alaskan Shoot-out wasn't televised.  Things have come a long ways since pot smoking was frowned upon in Anchorage...
