I'm not sure how I feel about this. The can bet on professional sports, but they still cannot bet or share competition information on college sports with bettors. It's a slippery slope.

Bad idea. I see the SEC just suspended a ref in football. I wouldn’t be shocked if they weren’t at least investigating a gambling angle there.

The widespread legalization and integration by the leagues of gambling has created a situation where it has permeated every facet of sports. It’s nearly statistically impossible that you haven’t watched a game where a player or official were compromised. They should be looking to draw more distinct boundaries, not loosen them.

Just look what is happening in the NBA today with all the arrest about gambling

I didn't realize #1 (gag) Purdue played at #9 (retch) UK tomorrow! Although it might make me physically ill, I may listen to it to get a feel for both teams

Ha, yea.

When my two most disliked programs play, which is rare, I usually prefer UK because a win means less to them given they’ve had more overall success.  If PU beats them they will be extra giddy which is no good.

I have teams I like and teams I dislike.

But I root for two schools: Indiana. And whoever is playing Purdue on that particular day.

I honestly had not even seen that news when I posted. Unsurprising. The NBA has had a huge issue with betting and they magically made the Doneghay stuff go away a decade-plus ago. With the integration of gambling and fantasy they’ve had several more incidents.

I also just think it will be bad for the game in general. Lots of NFL/NBA fans now kind of grumble at how integrated the betting apps are with viewing experience from constant commercials to coverage that focuses on betting lines non-stop. I know I get bored by it and I’ve been gambling on sports for a long time.

I still yearn for a way for two teams to lose the same game, but at least I'll get to watch one of those fan bases start squirming before the season even starts.

I didn't get to watch. How oaf-ish did *insert yearly Purdue giant's name* look today?
