This Bryan Colangelo breaking stuff is insane. NBA Finals can be put on the backburner. Just give me an ESPN 30 for 30 covering this story and I'm good.

Lol, its funny how many maturity issues that entire franchise has top to bottom

And people laugh at me with my "National Basketball Entertainment" statements...

A few questions under the assumption that the league is fixed...

1) How long has it been fixed?

2) Why has no one ever spoken up about it? Especially the teams clearly not benefitting from the rigged NBA?

3) How is it rigged? Players and coaches would all need to be in on it.

Actually the officials are the only ones that would have to be in on it. And 1 of them has spoken out. He was just disgraced at the time.

"I'm not saying the games are fixed, because they are not," Donaghy told Cleveland's 92.3 The Fan on Monday, "but they definitely program and train these referees to go out on the floor, and look for certain things, to put teams at advantages or disadvantages, based on who's up or down in the series."

Agree to disagree. I can see the NBA stepping in a pointing out plays that should be called to increase competitiveness, but I just don’t agree that it’s fixed. There would be way more evidence.

I think a lot of the argument comes from fans not taking a realistic look at their team. It was shocking that the Pacers even made the playoffs, so I was not surprised that LeBron bested them.

I dont think its fixed per se but they definitely manipulate the games to make it easier for certain players.

And as soon as its not an even footing its essentially rigged in my book even if there isnt a script dictating the specific outcome

^this. I don't think games are decided before they even start, but without a doubt the officials have an agenda they follow and it usually benefits the larger market teams or occasionally teams with superstar players. I think this is pretty undebatable.

I don't think the league is "fixed" or "rigged" in the sense you're alluding to with those questions.  I believe the league is, and has been for some time, about an entertainment value over a pure basketball standpoint.  The league wants to showcase athleticism so traveling violations are rarely called.  They give freedom to shooters to jump into defenders.  When is that acceptable?

Now, as far as the "fixed" and "rigged" part of the entertainment goes I'm sure it's understood by the refs what the league would like to see out of games/series.  You can watch it in almost every series where there are a few WTF calls that goes a teams way.  A couple of questionable foul calls on a certain player, players/teams that are afforded the right to be more physical on defense, players that get the foul call when barely grazed, players who can scratch, steal, and claw their way to a rebound, players who are given the extra 3 steps while the opponent isn't, etc.  It's an easy way to effect a game without everyone "being in on it" or it "being rigged."

A lot of players, teams, and organizations couldn't care less because they're making bank in this entertainment industry.  The organizations are so mismanaged and they're only worried about the bottom line.  There are a handful of organizations that couldn't care less to compete.
