doesn't really surprise me. they were right across the street from taco bell. bad location and the food wasn't all that good.

I remember when I was a kid and Taco Tico was the big dog and Taco Bell was an upstart. They tried to get one started in New Albany a few years back but it went belly up.I liked that place in the day.Something about squirting food out of caulk guns really turns me off to the Bell. :nono:

I think Taco Tico was started by Glenn Bell and some LA Rams and later Glenn Bell started Taco Bell, as well.

Not the best walk-in location for sure. Delivery was their focus, but a few more dine-ins a day could make a decent difference

I always almost walk in their door when I go to Scotty's. Odd location.

Learn something new everyday.I thought they were competitors.

The tico just kind of vanished from the Southern In, Louisville area.

Taco Bell gets all the pub---but me and my family like Taco Johns better!

Just because Taco Johns doesn't have the cool chihuaha or the catchy slogan ---run for the border!---doesn't mean they can't cook up some mean tacos!

Taco Bug referenced above may give someone good reason to--- run for the border!
