Indianapolis Colts Off-Season Thread

Recommended Posts

Despite everything else terrible about this season and game, there is a small bit of consolation.

At least you never lost to the Browns.

Did you notice that the Colts got destroyed 51-16 to Jacksonville?  You lost by 2 touchdowns.  The Colts lost by 5 touchdowns.  To Jacksonville.  Ugh.

...but still first place in the division!

Next week is must win if we want to make the playoffs.

Did you notice Jacksonville is not the worst team in the NFL? And they had beaten 4 teams prior to facing the Colts?

Jacksonville also has the 16th ranked offense by DVOA (read, completely average). They're actually only ranked one spot below the Colts. Where the Colts have the 28th ranked offense and 15th ranked defense, the Jags have the 16th ranked offense and 28th ranked defense. A weird coincidence.

Cleveland has the 29th ranked offense. Worse than them are us, Steelers (who demolished us), and the Cowboys.

Plus, you are able to say things like "make the playoffs".

You may hate Luck for some reason, but if you want to get into a "who is the worst team" contest, you picked the wrong opponents.

Good stats, but I still think there's a big difference between a 2 touchdown game and a 5 touchdown game.

Oh, and I don't hate Luck.  I hate the way he's played this year and I don't hate the idea of a monster trade because so many people think he's worth more than I do, but I like him.  I'd like him to figure out how to protect the football.  I'd like to hope he can too.

I do hate that I can't talk about his failures without getting called names too.  It's really weird.

Doing exactly what I feared they would do: rushing him back for the divisional "showdown" this week between 6-7 teams.

I hate this season so much.

By the way, the only offensive lineman the Colts signed this year just got released. Great offseason, Grigson.

What a waste too. Against the Texans? I mean, yeah, 6-7, but still. They couldn't beat Hasselbeck in Houston. Plus, there is still a chance Yates is getting the start. Any competent team against Yates should be a slaughter.

You cannot always listen to half the story that ESPN reports. You have to know more than just the headline.

Hasselback is expected to start...

Yep.  Sorry guys.  I have the Indystar Colts ap on my phone and it sent me a message that I either misread or was wrong.

If you look on the Colts feed on BR over half the posts are about Whitehurst stepping in for Hasselback and only a couple about Hasselback being expected to start. I thought Hasselback was out myself until I scrolled down a little more.

Gregg Doyel is reporting that Hasselbeck did not practice yesterday and has been seen in an arm sling. Whitehurst and Griff Whalen are both practicing as qb right now. Let that sink in. Griff Whalen.

All the sudden I'm anxious for the return of Luck. Talk about a roller coaster season.
