Interesting CTC Tweet

Recommended Posts

Crean is many things, but socially awkward is not one of them. He is extremely charismatic. Whether on the radio, in a large lecture hall, or just passing by in public. He could sell water to a fish. Not like Irsay at all.

He is absolutely socially awkward just like his brother-in-laws. That's why a lot of times their coaching family is generally regarded as group of major douches (the Harbaugh brothers and CTC), in particular, when the cameras are off.  I believe they aren't intentionally a-holes, they are just misunderstood and awkward, resulting in them looking like d-bags. I've personally witnessed this phenomenon numerous times w/ CTC because I was an aftercare supervisor at St. Charles where Crean and Dakich's kids went.

You work hard all week, make great grades in class, bust your butt at practice and at work outs and strengthening, and I personal see nothing wrong with letting off a little steam when the coach says "YOU DESERVE A BREAK" and gives them 3 days off. Remember they are 19, 20 & 21. They are not 48, 49 & 50 like some of us and would want to sleep the next 3 days. My goodness is all some of y'all do is follow these "young men" to say negative things? Then after "some of you" say these things you want them to go out and go hard so you can say "good job" wow, I got it now. Don't have fun WORK WORK WORK!! Study hard, play harder and don't have a good time at NO TIME! Just my opinion, and I can be wrong

I wasn’t alone in that interpretation, either. A source close to one potential McDonald’s All-American said Crean came off as socially awkward and “arrogant”.

I guess it isn't just fans on message boards. I wouldn't have a problem with Crean being arrogant if he'd actually earned the right to be that way.

I hope you all realize I wasn't talking about Coach Crean because in all honesty I like the man. He has done nothing but treated my son with respect and has taught my son a lot about college ball. I wouldn't want my son at another school. I love the fan base, his team mates, the coaches, the academic advisor and who ever else has direct contact with my son. I was referring to a person who calls hisself @Camp Crean, not Coach Crean. I hope you all got that. That person said he saw Stan and my son posting some things on Snap shot and Instagram or something like that and he was saying my son and Stan hadn't been working out this Summer and I know for a fact that they BOTH have and very hard I might add!! So if any one got it confused, I truly apologize. I wouldn't put Coach Crean down for NOTHING IN THE WORLD!

"Stan and Troy have definitely been doing some partying according to their snapchats and Instagrams"

Pray tell me where I mentioned Yogi in my post. I graduated college three years ago. Trust me, I know people have down time and drink. But Rob and Stan and Troy are making it public with the drinking and partying. Don't kill the messenger. Just saying they have been doing a lot of partying. It's public information so how is it a slight? Why do you feel the need to defend Yogi when he wasn't even mentioned?

I didn't say Yogi in my post either. And if I did, I really didn't mean too! And if Troy is drinking and posting it, and it shows in his playing, then by all means say what you want to and I will defend you. But until THAT DAY ..........

Sensitive subject.  I like Stuhoo's approach with CTC's quote.

I am a Dentist now, but by all means, I had a GOOD time in Bloomington.

I was very serious about my studies and very serious about having FUN on weekends, at that time.

It is very possible to excel at your trade and have fun too, BUT there is a fine line with priorities that needs maintained.

Now, I'm a boring old man, but that's another story.

I'm more month-minded on most topics, but thanks for your opinion on my weakness....

My fellow Marines, Coach Knight and a certain early 90's IU NCAA wrestling Champion, know differently!

I don't think that's what he meant.

I hope our team takes a lesson from all this defensiveness we see from fans on this forum, and uses it on the court.

I didn't say coach Knight would advocate that, just that my fellow Marines and those 2 gentleman (and a lot of other people) would know there's little weak-mindedness here.

He may have said it in a less than perfect way, but it doesn't come off as arrogant, to me.

And, in my opinion, social media is a rather anti-social phenomenon. It gives the appearance of social interaction when it really is nothing of the sort for 95% of those involved.
