Dodgers will load up now. It’s unreal that you can defer 97% of your deal. I think 50% max should be threshold.

Maybe he'll be a $700 million dollar man in the regular season and Clayton Kershaw in the postseason.

I think they should change it to where in total you can defer the average salary of the life of the contract and then defer however much they want each year but this is just dumb. Or force the team to pay them that amount up front so they can’t just make a stupid decision and say it’s the futures problem.

Watch MLB change the deferment rule….basically allowing only the Ohtani contract to do it and screwing other teams over.

FWIW, last year the Padres were going to offer Aaron Judge a 14 year deal that would have paid him until he was 44.  MLB was set to void that saying it was working around the salary cap.  So how is Ohtani’s deal different?

That's collectively bargained, so I'd be surprised if they agree to any major changes.

When it comes time to pay the rest of Ohtani's contract in 2034...sell the team. Wolf of Wall Street still on my list of things to watch, but that line floored me.

It’s a great watch.  Not sure I ever need to rewatch it but thoroughly enjoyed the watch.

Adrian Beltre, Joe Mauer and Todd Helton into the Hall of Fame. 

To me, Beltre's a slam dunk. Not so sure about the others. They were very good -- but HOF worthy?
