CTC and Troy

Thought this was very positive from troy. People can say what they want about coach like myself but I also recognize the guy is a great man and is totally invested in the program as well as the well being of the players.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I am as big a fan as anyone - even wore my cream & crimson today to show my support, but I'm getting tired of hearing all the negativity on here. I will be signing off and reading these boards no more. If I wanted to hear people shoot IU's coaches and players down, I'd be a Purdue fan. No one is hurting more over these losses than the players and coaching staff. They put their heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into this season, missing countless hours away from their families, etc… We (collectively) should just SHUT UP and support the kids. PERIOD!!!

 

If we shut up, there wouldn't be a message board.

 

But, yeah, I would love for some people to shut up. I'd start with people who try to tell others how to be a fan and get angry when they read something from someone who doesn't share their opinions. That really doesn't lead to good discussion. See what I did there?

 

P.S. I rarely even go to the grocery store without my IU hat on. I might not approve of the current coach, but I am just as much a Hoosier and IU fan as you are.

Crean needs to improve drastically to take us to greatness (you know, do what he was hired to do)= not supporting the team

Crean did a phenomenal job, only 2 McDs AAs and could've gone to the CBI!  Imagine what he'd do if he had 5 NBA Hall of Famers!-  now you're being a fan

I think it says troy respects crean and that's a good thing. I would like some other players to do the same but time will tell the bottom line is they got to work there butts off to get better starting yesterday this is a big year for them and there coach coming up.

There is nothing wrong with the players speaking their piece. But they need to remember that CTC is on the pay roll for $3 million dollars a year. This year has been so bad for fans who has been around for 40 years. I personally think CTC is a good PR person but he is NOT a coach for Indiana. I saw so many times things he done and asked what is he doing. I hope he is replace soon and that he takes Fred Glass with him [why would you offer CTC a job thru 2020] is beyond me. Fred Glass and CTC are two of a kind.

Exactly. Every comment in every thread is not a invitation to get on your soapbox. Hijacking threads is against board policy. There are threads to discuss all of this. If you can't find one that fits, start one, but don't hijack every other thread.

I played baseball in juco and loved my coach. I then transferred to a d1 in the MVC, where I absolutely despised my coach. Take it from me, having a coach you like makes for a whole lot better college experience. Glad to see Troy has that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I disagree, the players should not be concerned over how much he is paid. The players should be concerned over listening to their coach and getting better. It seemed like Troy started putting that work in towards the end of the season and it started to show. Glad he has something to carry into the offseason.

Troy doesn't know if he would have learned more from a different coach. This tweet is pretty meaningless. It's great that he likes his coach. I hope our administration is smart enough not to listen to the players concerning coaching changes. Hopefully, we've learned that lesson.

 

This post isn't meaningless to the overall Crean discussion.  There's been a lot of unproven speculation about how Crean lost this team, there was no unity and that everyone was going to transfer because they didn't believe in the program.  Maybe, just maybe that isn't going to happen.  

 

Then again I was wrong back in the day when Hulls and Elston left for Butler and Watford transferred to Alabama.

There are 2-3 guys on here that seek out any positive comments so they can piss in that person's breakfast cereal of choice.  Why is it that you have to post a negative comment to EVERY post that's NOT negative? You guys feel better about yourselves afterwards? Do you do this when youre not online or do you come on here because no one will stick around long enough to listen to your constant complaining?

I hope they come back next year and dominate just so we can see how or if peoples posting changes would love to see crean win a championship or 4 I would b the first to say I was wrong. I hope people r not purposely running people off here I dont think they r I usually see or agree with there point but if its every single positive post they attack then that is wrong

Misery loves company. Personally, I think it's great Troy appreciates his opportunity to play for coach and feels he has benefitted. I'm encouraged by his tweet. Thanks, Troy.
