Noah stays or goes?

Recommended Posts

I am only basing this off of things you see Crean doing on the recruiting trail, but I see him staying. He isn't going at this like he HAS to have 2 bigs to fill for Luke and Noah. Unless he goes the JUCO route (which I don't know if there are any solid bigs there) I am leaning towards him staying. We will see. I think a lot depends on if the NBA makes that new rule that you must be 20 to be drafted. Then it would be silly for him to wait 2 years longer.

I was spot on with this until I remembered Crean has increased his recruitment for 2014 and two mediums in particular lately. Could be they are for Lukes spot but his interest lately has been on two guys who look more like what Noah played last night. A more 3/4 role than a 5.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

He should stay, I don't think he's developed enough to go to the NBA. In most games he'll have a good start but then disappear.
IMO I think Zeller could've stayed one more year (what a blessing that would've been) but money talks. I say 75% chance he leaves.

I don't think there are too many 7 footers around to recruit.

I don't even understand how one can fully compare the two situations (Cody vs Noah). In a vacuum, sure the comparisons make sense. But in real life, dealing with different scenarios, there are far too many unknown variables to accurately assess.

Someone mentioned it earlier and I think it was spot on. At the end of the day he is 18 years old. 18 year old kids change their mind more than they change their underwear. I hope he stays but I doubt he even has any idea what he's doing.

If he looks at all options and then considers the risk of potential injury, I think he is gone. $ talks and one look at the Noel injury from a couple years ago will sway him. In Creans defense I think Noahs outside game has improved with his driving to the basket the last two games. I just wish we would have seen him get this many shots earlier in the year. Our record would be different.

Personally, I want him to stay, but if I was advising him (which I am not)....I'd tell him to go. A lottery pick is money you cant pass up, not at 19. He has proved he is more than capable. I was afraid last year was the tip of the iceberg on the revolving door. I think I had right to be afraid. One and dones complete your team, they shouldnt BE your team.

I'm already considering him gone. He will be a lottery pick. However, I will be thrilled if he stays! It's a win win situation for IU and Coach Crean. If he stays he will only get better and it will make IU a better team. If he goes pro then that will be 3 lottery picks in 2 years for IU. That will make more kids want to choose IU.

I thought Vic was gone and Cody would stay last year. Hard to argue with 4th pick, I thought he was going to be 8-12. I think he could have used his PT to hone his mid game if he came back. I am 50/50 with Vonleh. Right now he is 6-10 on most mocks which would mean he likely will go but with us missing the tourney others have the chance to drastically improve their stock like McGary did last year and pass him. Odds are, he is gone, but Crean does not seem to be recruiting that way. That is why I am 50/50. Plus there are numerous things to improve to be the type of NBA guy he wants to be. I could see him as NBA all star in 3-4 years.
