(2016) C Thon Maker

Recommended Posts

4 different schools in 3 different countries with a handler. All of it.

If there is some sort of violation its going to no different from Peter and Hanner here.

Kid moved from South Sudan to Australia to escape a civil war that has been going on since 1989. Moved from Australia to the US to get more exposure basketball wise. As far as his move from Virginia to Canada, can't speak on it. He did go to a bigger basketball school in Canada. All Im saying is the persecution this kid escaped from in South Sudan, he gets a lifetime pass in my book

It's not persecuting the kid. I'm glad he got out, and he is well on his way to the NBA. However, his story does not exclude him from regulatory discretion. The entire situation reeks of potentially crippling NCAA violations which are absolutely not Maker's fault; rather, all fault would lie with his handler, who unfortunately seems to be in the drivers seat with this kids life right now.

No I definitely didn't take it as you attacking Thon himself. I guess we'll see in the coming months what happens. I doubt Coach K would be involved though if there was that much stink coming off the situation. There are some respectable coaches still recruiting him so that bodes well for the situation. I guess we'll see what happens.

The CBB world should be hearing if Thon successfully reclassified pretty soon now, correct?

Yes, supposed to be in February.

Man, that would make me happy again....if he reclassed and chose IU

I'd love to see him commit Noah Vonleh style. Reclass, visit and commit within a very short window.

His decision to reclassify will come this coming week. He will be officially visiting UK, KU, and "possibly other schools."

Sounds like IU is in third place. I'm tired of getting beat by these two.

It's either KU or another Adidas school.  Adidas is too invested for him to go to puke.

I'm not so sure that has any effect. Did you watch the interview? I know if I had a crystal ball pick, it would be UK.

He's an Adidas kid.  A LOT would have to happen to change that.  I don't have all the info but I can't see him going anywhere else besides an Adidas school.
