The amount of careful consideration and care his handlers have taken to this point makes me think they are actually doing everything on the up-and-up. They seem to legitimately care about his best interests and building his brand, which includes steering him clear of any controversy that doesn't involve him inadvertently crippling an opponent when he causes the backboard to fall on them after a buzzer beating, national championship winning dunk for IU.

I think Thon is the only player we're trying to add to this class right now considering that we're still over signed.

Not really. Still no clue what's really happening here other than Chuck appears to have IU in a legitimate position.

Isn't the basketball academy he's attending a big joke though? That seems like an eligibility issue right off the bat.

I am sure this has already been discussed somewhere in this thread, but does anyone have a timeline of when Thon is expected to make a decision? Also, when does he have to make a decision by? Does he have to finish up classes this summer? Or is it possible (if we get him) that he comes in for summer school?

Getting a lot of Thon Maker questions. I'd be surprised if he goes to college. I expect him to play professionally overseas.

Still couldn't hurt to recruit him hard. Worst case scenario we get a good referral for his brother.
