Mustaf was out with lower body.  Doesn’t sound serious but as a potential starter we need to get him healthy

I believe Harris will ultimately earn the starting spot, with Mustaf thriving in the sixth-man role. Of course, I'm not CDD, so Mustaf could still end up in the starting lineup, but I think Harris has an excellent chance of being in the top 5.

Harris is a pure shooter who can consistently stretch the floor, creating more space for our bigs and Burton. That floor spacing will be even more important this season than it was last year. His 3-for-7 performance from beyond the arc last night reinforced the value he brings.

Mustaf, on the other hand, is a dynamic slasher whose athleticism and energy make him an ideal sixth man. He can provide an instant spark off the bench while still playing significant minutes.

Mustaf started 23 of 29 games last year.  Darren Harris has never averaged over 10mpg. Perhaps Harris will beat him out for a starting spot, but seems more likely to me that Mustaf gets the nod.

While that's true, it's important to consider the significant talent gap between Mustaf's former team (Georgia Tech) and Harris' former team (Duke).

Mustaf played on a Georgia Tech team that finished 11–20 (2–16 in conference) and ranked No. 169 in KenPom. GT was arguably one of the weakest high-major teams in the country last season - if not the weakest.

Harris, on the other hand, played for a Duke team that went 35–3 (17–1 in conference), ranked No. 3 in KenPom, and produced three NBA draft picks. That's not an apples-to-apples comparison.

That said, I expect both players to be significant contributors.

My family grew by one. I would call that meaningful.

(I am adopting Trevor Manhertz without his consent)

I am adopting Ben Winker; he needs me far more than the others.

Your newly adopted son Trevor is really tall. Our three freshmen might be serious @$$ kickers as sophomores.

I agree both will play big roles on this team. I am a bit dubious to credit Harris just for being at Duke. He couldn't really get on the court much even after injuries. I'm hoping he proves me and any other doubters wrong.

My prediction is one of them kicks some as a freshman. Don’t know which one, and not to toot the Dipo Family Horn, but *little league hardo dad voice* MY BOY PLAYED THE MOST MINUTES OUT OF ANY OF EM LAST NIGHT.

1. No need to yell.
2. My boy Ben had a better +\-.

He was bad enough that if nothing changes, the big rotation solves itself imo. Our best lineup likely has Sisley (who feels improved) at the 4, Sherrell at the 5 and Yigi the bench big.

I've had this hot take percolating for a while, and I saw nothing last night to change it. Sisley is going to play 25+ mpg. And even if he doesn't start, he might be on the court to finish games.

Some random observations from attending last night:

- The opponents were way overmatched. This was the equivalent of playing an exhibition vs Marian.

- As expected, Moody looked the most ready of the freshmen

- Burton is a dog. I had some flashbacks to Yogi. He is quick and really strong, will be difficult to bully defensively despite his height

- Lindsay is the second PG. When Burton was out of the game, he played PG and Moody was off-ball

- Manhertz is really skinny. Showed a lot to like as a long term prospect, but I'm not sure he's ready for the Big Ten in year 1

- Yigi needs to process way faster. Teams like Northwestern are going to kill him with post doubles if he plays like he did last night.
