This will obviously not be the portal haul IMO, but since we have a lot of time to kill until we start getting portal announcements, curious what people would think about this backcourt:

Haralson, Overton starting

PAM, Quentin Coleman (the 6'4 wake forest decommit ranked #34 by 247 in the 2026 class)

I think its dangerous to have two freshmen as your backups. I'd prefer another experienced player or two in the backcourt before relaying on PAM and a player like Quentin.

Also I wouldn't so no to Haralson, but he doesn't make m eyes dilate. I'd prefer a better shooter.

I'm with you - not sure Haralson is worth a major payday. He does not move me that much, though I wouldn't say no for the right price.

And agree, two freshmen as backups is tricky. Don't think we'd be able to rely on Drake, but maybe I am wrong about that.

I'd like to add Overton but not sure if that door is closed now

More talented than this year but neither of them are primary ball handlers. I want a really good PG after what we saw this year.  Also would love Coleman and would be fine relying on him since most recruits in his range are able to produce right away

I'd add 5)  A defensive stopper.  Enright hustled, but we didn't have anyone that you could call a defensive stopper. This would involve upgrading our athleticism.

Yeah I was convinced he was brought in to be a culture / depth backup and he would have been fine in that role. Then he started the first game.

Obv injuries played a part but if there are things that concerned me, big picture, about DDV this year it’s roster stuff: no reason Enright should’ve been expected to be anything as critical than he was, and the lack of frontcourt depth. Now, hard to know what role injuries played in both those situations — did they think Harris would give them a serviceable 3rd big? Did the Drake/Dorn/Conerway injuries have an impact on the backcourt? Yes to the second question, but even with Dorn and Conerway healthy, wayyy too much rested on a below-avg 6’1” guy who couldn’t get to the tin or credibly guard up the spectrum.

So basically, firing a coach without having the next guy lined up puts you on a two-year schedule.

No idea just know IU couldn’t beat Northwestern once out of 2 tries to make a 68 team tourney and they couldn’t get it done

Didn’t seem to stop other schools or coaches. But I think that’s a good excuse for IU fans to hold on to.

Just don’t use it around any Louisville fans. They thought they were hiring Dusty May. Set up a press conference and everything only to have to cancel it and scramble to get Kelsey at the last minute. Lol…

For sure.  1 win anywhere on the schedule probably does it

FWIW, by Torvik's calculation of WAB, Indiana was -0.41, which puts IU 53rd.  If any loss was turned to a win, it would be +0.59 which would have moved them up 8 spots to 45.

I generally agree with your walk before you run position, but for me it’s going a little too far to suggest ducking UK at Lucas Oil of all places.

If we want to do that, what’s the point of even having a team.  We’ve got to have some ambition and guts and pride when we spend $10-12.5M on players and spend a ton on coaches.

I believe Lucas Oil is a home game for IU under the contract, so IU should clear $5 million easy for that one game. No way you give that up.
