An already shorthanded team will be even more so with the departure of Kadlecova back to her home overseas to play professionally.  Nothing at all definitive, but doesn't sound like we see Z back on the court until some time in January.  Wiseman missed the last 2 games in concussion protocol but likely available on Sunday if needed.  Western Carolina (2-10) won its first 2 games and then lost its next 10.  They average just 59 ppg with a -10 margin.  They shoot 35% FG and 30% on 3s.  They average 36 rpg with a -2 margin.  2 double digit scorers at 11.7 and 11.4 ppg.  Several players average between 4 and 5 rpg.  They average 20 TOs/gm.  On paper, this should be an easy Hoosier win.

phoenix stotijn Having her best game. Shay is just really really good. Jerni and jade have made an impact. Caffey has had a few moments. Nobody here will like it, but maya is very overrated. Not very good at this level. And gee whiz the men and women both have really gone bottom of the barrel with some of the scheduling of these non conference games

I agree and it isn’t even close. Sharneece is having a good season at a smaller school, and had good years prior to IU. I know during her first year here she had a baby, but would imagine she’d be a solid contributor this season.

Jade is a freshman and she is a true big. And I mean BIG; she’s physically solid. Could be a high ceiling diamond in the rough player that completely changes the roster once Z is back.

Not much interest here in the game. Good and bad. This season will not be a good one, once they start playing real teams. I was happy moren finally played some of the players that just sit the bench extended minutes. Jerni has had solid moments. Jade actually looked the part and I’m a bit confused why she doesn’t play more. Phoenix made some plays and buckets. Beaumont terrible first half got hot 2nd half. Shay is unreal I guarantee she is pissed she didn’t transfer. She’s one of the best players in the country. Maya contributed nothing, slow gangly and ill looking shot form, not much of an athlete. Wasn’t afraid to keep bricking threes. She is From an area of the rich, and that Rich high school plays a bunch of nobodies but pads stats.

Hamilton Southeastern had the #3 SOS in the state last year. 24 of their 28 opponents were 4A. Not sure if you're confusing her with someone else or just too busy grinding that axe to care.

Teri Moren did not have a timeline for Zania Socka-Nguemen returning to action for #iuwbb. She said Z has not yet returned to practice. Said she's feeling better and is doing cardio, but is unsure what the plan will be when the team gets back from Christmas.

Teri Moren declined to elaborate on any details of Valentyna Kadlecova leaving the #iuwbb program, but she said it was a surprise and something they didn't see coming. She called it disappointing.
