Pete Thamel reports Wisky will start true freshman Carter Smith at QB.  He ran for 47 yards and a touchdown and completed 3-of-12 passes in Wisconsin's upset win over Washington.

Thanks for the intel.

Notably, those three completions were for 8 total yards.  And it took 15 attempts to get to 47 yards of rushing (may be some sacks in that number though).

Last week was his first college game experience.

While he's a wildcard without much game film to study, it's going to be a tall order for him today.

This spread is looney tunes imo. Wisconsin’s defense has been playing REALLY well the last two weeks. Offense is horrific, however. They haven’t been over 100 passing yards since October 4th.

You may very well be right here because Wisky hasn’t quit against anyone yet, correct? But this one kind of feels to me like a perfect storm of grossness for Wisky. The perfect weather. The Senior Day with the(hopefully) electric crowd. The freshman QB who’s nowhere close to ready for this. Coming off the close Penn St game and what the staff would have been preaching at them all week. I just think this one could go sideways pretty fast. Feeling another productive 4th qtr for Alberto. I called it 45-6 and I’m not sure that’s not low.

Their other choice is Hunter Simmons, who until this year was a backup at Southern Illinois, and has 2 TDs and 5 Interceptions in limited action at Wisky this season.

Our defense could be in feast mode from the first snap.

Sarratt downgraded to doubtful, per Thamel. I’m sure that’s the right thing to do given the bye week next week but I really wanted the kid to play on Senior Day. Another Charlie Becker God Mode game incoming.

He had 65 yards on the 15 runs excluding sacks. That is not all that good, though he is listed as a dual threat quarterback. He is also only 190 lbs.

Poor kid.  They're sending him out to the lions.

Reminds me a lot of when we would do that.
