It’s a crapshoot The fact that people think IU can’t win a bidding war still blows my mind. Cuban, Simon-Skjodt, Irsay, Cook… I think that’s at least $20B in net worth. Lord knows how many other millionaires. Then there’s the 800K+ other alumni plus the money that comes along with playing in the B1G. If we miss on Sales, I HIGHLY doubt a lack of funds will be the reason. Quote

On a podcast Cig hinted we were around 25-27mm. OSU, Oregon and Texas were all allegedly in the 40mm range. I absolutely think we could get outbid and/or decide against giving a freshman x percentage of our total “payroll”. 8bucks 1 Quote

I could see our staff saying they’d rather spread the money around or don’t believe in cutting a massive check for one guy, but I don’t believe for a second that they couldn’t come up with the money with a few phone calls if they really wanted to. I have no idea about the NIL/donor situation, but IU sure seemed to run out of $$ for basketball. Obviously not the defending NC's, but still a dynamic wing and solid back-up PG & C and we're looking at a likely legit top 15 team. Again, not exactly apples to apples, but not sure the well is as deep as we might hope. Quote
