All It takes is one mega donor willing to give the money for the sole reason of bringing sales to Bloomington.

It’s a crapshoot

The fact that people think IU can’t win a bidding war still blows my mind. Cuban, Simon-Skjodt, Irsay, Cook… I think that’s at least $20B in net worth. Lord knows how many other millionaires. Then there’s the 800K+ other alumni plus the money that comes along with playing in the B1G.

If we miss on Sales, I HIGHLY doubt a lack of funds will be the reason.

On a podcast Cig hinted we were around 25-27mm.  OSU, Oregon and Texas were all allegedly in the 40mm range.

I absolutely think we could get outbid and/or decide against giving a freshman x percentage of our total “payroll”.

I could see our staff saying they’d rather spread the money around or don’t believe in cutting a massive check for one guy, but I don’t believe for a second that they couldn’t come up with the money with a few phone calls if they really wanted to.

I have no idea about the NIL/donor situation, but IU sure seemed to run out of $$ for basketball. Obviously not the defending NC's, but still a dynamic wing and solid back-up PG & C and we're looking at a likely legit top 15 team. Again, not exactly apples to apples, but not sure the well is as deep as we might hope.

In this article it says Dolson told On3 that we spent 18m on the national title football roster.
