2025-2026 IU Roster

I was glad that we were able to get some multiple year players.  I believe our roster currently sits at:

Trent Sisley, Aleksa Ristic Fr

Josh Harris, So

Jasai Miles, Nick Dorn, Jason Drake Jr

Lamar Wilkerson, Reed Bailey, Tucker DeVries, Sam Alexis, Conor Enright, Tayton Conerway  Sr

-------------------------

I agree with Wayne in that I would have liked to add Mbiya, but I'm higher on Sam Alexis than he is and am fine with him filling the backup center role.  Obviously there would be an issue if Bailey were to go down.  But assuming that there isn't an injury issue, IMO Mbiya would not have played a big role this year at IU and then it becomes more about his long term.  I don't even know what to say about players being in a system long term anymore because of the movement that goes on.

Good post.  This draft in particular proves there are great players hidden away in plain sight in small places.  I feel GREAT about Wilkerson, Bailey, DeVries and different degrees of ok/good on much of the rest of the roster.  But I think we have a couple more gems hidden in there. Maybe Dorn, Conerway, Miles, idk.   I look at a few rosters and think we are clearly undermanned but coaching and team chemistry are an undeniable component.  I personally love a rim protecting, shot altering big. Maybe DD doesn’t feel as strongly about that. Offensively, it should make us much more versatile and that’ll be fun to watch.

Agree with much of this -- would add that in one of the recent DeVries interviews he raised/discussed strengths and potential weaknesses of the roster as it is in the context of building the team and preparing, including as to size/rim protection, and talked loosely about the team playing a way to mask weaknesses. We don't really know how strongly DD feels about rim protection but he has been recruiting some guys for it. I'd expect at some point we'll have more length and athleticism up front (but no plodding, typical back to the basket bigs). Also think at this point we're more headed towards a UM-type team than an Iowa-type. How we play this season is going to be interesting to watch for sure.

IMO the most hidden gem could turn out to be Harris.  13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds for a freshman playing just 22.5 minutes/game -- regardless of it being a low D1 -- is outstanding.  Throw in that he showed a little bit of range and didn't turn the ball over and is a nice athlete.

Food for thought:  Harris had the highest points scored per minute played of ANYBODY that transferred in to IU -- more than DeVries, Bailey, Wilkerson, Dorn, and Miles.

FWIW, Was told yesterday by a parent from someone on the team last year, that both Leal and Goode are not going to get a waiver.  Was also told that there is another player from last year seeking a waiver.  He has been practicing with them team and was told they are holding a spot for him.

No wonder we haven’t recruited a Center, Ballo is coming back.

LOL

I think Goode has been spending time with the team.

who does that leave, Galloway?

yes Ballo, LOL

I was asked not to say but I found it interesting.  He also said that his boy loves DDV and the team will be much better than everyone is thinking.  Really pushing the team to shoot the ball a lot and is upset when they pass up open shots.

FWIW; I’d be completely good with Hatton as our 13th player.

He bleeds cream and crimson and he’s a serviceable ‘break glass in emergency’ big.

He bled Kentucky blue for 18 years lol

To get everyone to stop talking about our 4th string center... it would be fantastic.

Wow, how bad do you have to be to be the fourth string center on a team were you would be the only center listed?

I’m not getting the Hatton talk. How he can he possibly be eligible for a waiver? He played 4 years post-Covid. No injury history. He played in, what, maybe 20 games last year? Was William & Mary not D1 his freshman year?

Can he get a year for grad studies still??? Besides that, he's done or you just sue the NCAA cuz its the in thing to do.
FYI, per Sports Ref, W&M have been playing coed 2-on-5 since 1905.

It's college basketball in 2025. Demand additional eligibility and the NCAA will give it to you.

Gonna count up all those 2025 examples of doing just that successfully at Indiana: Zero.

Goode and Leal say hi.  Neither has been given anything but silence so far.

Zero chance that hatton is getting another year.

Nothing definitive from the NCAA but Raby indicates it does not look like Leal's waiver request was approved.  He's not indicating the source or the reliability of that source so take it FWIW.   It wouldn't at all be surprising if it was indeed denied.
