I actually don’t, I’m just going by what others have posted on here by many more people than just me. I’m assuming they know something I don’t. Am I way off base here, along with many others. I’m just saying that if that is the reason, that is petty and a different type of discipline should have happened, like I mentioned above. He’s an inexperienced young man that may have made a minor mistake and a good leader would have treated it much differently than firing him

That’s life. Don’t like it? Quit. We know what path Howard chose. Every single person on this board has performed a task for a superior that they didn’t agree with at some point or another in their professional lives. Howard was a low level staffer so of course it's within reason for the HC to dismiss someone he considers insubordinate. Howard was also involved deeply in recruiting and had a full time role created just this summer to retain him. He will likely take a role at Michigan in the near future. That this low level staffer supposedly has such little respect for Woody he felt he could dismiss an order from him, and that he is so well thought of that he will land on his feet at another B10 school, and this is happening early in the season after having just created a role to retain this individual, is the part that's befuddling/makes this such a conversation. This obviously matters very little in terms of results on the court. It will fuel the stuff off the court that's irksome for Woody and us all. If that's what the team needs to feel motivated, so be it I suppose... Chris007 and OliviaPope40 2

Saying the same dumb thing over and over again doesn’t make it anymore true. A low level staffer doesn’t get to pick and choose what directives he’s given by the head coach without repercussion. Literally the dumbest thing I’ve read all day and I’ve read 17 pages of this nonsense.

Also he was one of the staffs most connected people in recruiting circles, agents, and things of that sort and was the most connected person in Indiana recruiting circles. Also I’m waiting on you to answer my question.

Are you seriously trying to lay claim that the assistant director of recruiting and operations is allowed to defy the head coach and that it’s common practice at other universities? You’ve lost your ******* mind. Coach Knight would have walked this kid out of the building himself and put him on the first bus out of town. And he would have done it after 5 minutes, not given him 3 weeks. Nothing of what you’ve said is a fact by the way.

They may have a discussion about it, but outright letting a dude go may be extreme. It seems here this was a man made controversy. Woodson decides to move some lockers. Rather than talking to the players and letting them know he decided to do it and why, he tells his staffer to do it. Staffer is hesitant because it seems uncessary and he may or may not have gotten clarification as to "why" from Woodson. So he sits on it for some time, trying to figure out the best way to approach it. He speaks to some co-workers, who proably say "just do it." Mediocre Mike get's POd because it isn't done on his timeline. Eventually AH gets the courage to approach the two players and instigate the move. Mediocre Mike sits around stewing because someone "questioned" the great Mike Woodson. Eventually it comes to a head, and AH is dismissed. Look any way this is "spun" it is stupid. It's not like the kid challenged his substitution patterns, offensive system (or lack thereof), defensive system, or many other legitimate questions. Part of being the head man is mentoring guys like AH and explaining the hows and whys of his thinking. It's also taking input from the youngins who may be closer to the players than the head coach is. Even if this was "insubordination" it hardly rises to an "offense" of anything as the job was eventually done. Real Coaches would probably forget they even made the request because they have so many other more important things to address. Yep. Mediocre Mike is the master of minutia... I can't wait forIU to be rid of this petty buffoon.
