I believe it was like 3.5-4. They are finding that schools are looking at high 2’s almost 3m for him. So the price has came down a bit. All board chatter. I think it came from Trilly but don’t quote me.

Ok so I am super busy anymore and hard to follow iu basketball as close as I did. Plus depressing.  So basically michigan added a huge impact player. Retained another. Iu has done nothing yet correct? I am seeing news on my Facebook feeds and haven't seen much positive movement for iu even though we need it bad

Love the idea of Reibe. And I think we have a real prior relationship with him. To me he’s worth slightly overpaying market price.

There's only been a handful of commitments to this point across the country.  Too early to panic about anything right now.

And Mustaf is exactly the kind of upside play that can make our team better than expected if the evaluation is correct.

He could also break the team if the evaluation sucks.

Yes the team that won  the national championship added a piece quickly  and was able to keep their pg that won MOP of the final game and IU who finished 10th and who has only had 4 winning conference records in 18 years is struggling to get any traction with top level kids

I know Woody's staff was on Reibe, but did DDV's staff also pursue him?

There were some rumors that his camp was grumbling about playing time this year. Goal is NBA asap of course. 

Ultimately looks like Reibe isn't on board with Hurley's vision for splitting time at the 5 as they did with Sanogo/Clingan, Clingan/Johnson, Johnson / Reed, Reed / Reibe. He faded pretty hard after a good early start for UConn, but their fans are definitely a little bummed to see him go and think he will be a good player. Sounds like he may want to face the basket more than Hurley's style really allows for the 5 to do. 

He can certainly come here and be our featured big guy. Tough for me to say who is worth overpaying at this rate but with 3 years of eligibility, hope we give him a close look.

Eric Reibe was a Woody offer May '23; committed to UConn Oct. '24.  He attended Bullis School in Potomoc, MD so KJ may have had contact with him at his previous stop.

I didn’t think Reibe looked very good. Saw him at the Duke-UConn E8 game and basically Duke built that 19 point lead entirely in the minutes Reibe played. Their comeback began when he sat and stalled when he was back in. Really looked lost out there. Maybe as a depth piece, but don’t know if he’s hitting the portal to just sit on the bench somewhere else.

He showed a lot of good stuff early in the year when Tarris Reed was injured. Had good games against Arizona, Illinois and Kansas. His minutes went down when Reed came back and he played progressively less as the year went on. Sounds like he has a very vocal camp that was concerned about playing time. UConn likely told him they won't commit to starting him next year, so portal it is.
