I was mostly referring to the concept of getting mid-major guys that have produced at that level, often making their all-conference teams and sometimes conference POY type rather than just looking at potential that just hasn't panned out yet at any level.

2 of the players were on high major teams last year. His son and Enright, so we have a good idea of what we'll get from them next year, assuming 100% recovery from their injuries.

Parker Stewart, the supposed shooter from UT-Martin, was a Miller recruit. Both he and Woodson were poor at evaluating talent. It remains to be seen how good DeVries is at it.

As Cig would say:  Production over potential.

Those are two data points I don’t put a lot of stock in. First, his son is completely unique in that it’s his child. He’d be coming from wherever he was.

Also both were injured last year, giving us a less than perfect look at their high major production. Also having coached Enright before, it’s hard to say if CDD is bringing him in because of his production at Depaul or because of what he knows of him at Drake.

I wouldn’t expect CDD to reach for two high major transfers every portal season based on those two data points. But that’s purely a guess, based on everyone else he’s brought in.

(With that said, he did make an attempt at Dix and Conwell so maybe he will fish those waters pretty consistently???)

TN is the newest leader for ament. Could help some with freeman

Someone is going to seriously over pay for Ament. Kid’s got Paul George written all over him but he’s so far away physically and he’s just not ready to be a top 2 option on a top 10 team. He’s gonna tease the hell out of some fanbase for a year and then he’s gonna head to the League and you’re never gonna get a return on investment.

I think one thing that I would consider is contacting a couple of 2026 class kids and signing them to two year deals to reclass to this year. He offered a pair of 4☆ centers who are 6'11 270lb men in that class while at WVU. Just a thought.

Yup. If you’ve willing to wait the process out and prey a bit on desperation you can absolutely come out ahead. Used to be the same in recruiting, though the portal has eaten into that, where a kid with good offers in the fall would get great offers in the spring.

What’s happening with Trent MacLean?  Anything positive or is he not worth a place on the bench for development?

It’s been quiet. Only 1 of the 3 WVU recruits that hasn’t had a public update

Rabby says Cincy is where his family wants him to go. UCF insider also gave them a crystal ball prediction to land him.

The family probably wants him to go wherever Mamadou N’Diaye is.  Maybe the situation is fluid.  Steven Reynolds was headed to Western Michigan until he wasn't.  Poach the coach - would the player follow?  Connect the dots and it's a little surprising that auburn wasn't the move here.
