Do we have to keep pretending that Woodson is some high character guy? Everything that comes out about him paints him as an insecure, petty, lazy narcissist.

Like what? Lazy? For recruiting, absolutely. Insecure and petty? Not sure about that. Narcissist? Based on what?

At this point, what is it that you want done? I understand your disappointment with the program, though I’m not at all sure you’ve floated any solutions. How long have you been an IU fan?

What do you think a thread called "Fire Mike Woodson" exists to do if not be a corner of the internet for IU fans to vent their frustrations with the state of the program? What is it you would like done, Cathy - for everyone to sit quietly and say "Go Hoosiers!" into oblivion? It's not my job to find solutions for the program. It's the administration's. Please forgive the fans for being frustrated? Sorry it offends you?

If Woodson actually loved IU and cared about our basketball program then he would bust his *** at his job. Nothing we’ve heard about Mike Woodson suggests he cares about anyone but himself.

That’s part of my point here - You and a few others are quick to believe third hand rumors and innuendo without any actual knowledge whatsoever. I guess I understand that’s what losing does to some people, but it’s kind of mindless, don’t you think? And all because we had a really lousy weekend in the Bahamas?

Had a really lousy 4 years. Which unpaid intern are you still defending the bum?

Be frustrated all you want - I guess our fan base isn’t immune to this kind of stuff. Frustrating for those of us who’ve been around the program for a long time and have seen how successful it was. Times, and fan bases, change.

Don’t worry, Dolson won’t do a mid-season termination because he doesn’t have a big enough pair!  Like KathywithaC a said in one her post, he will wait. I also find it weird that KathywithaC hasn’t posted for awhile and shows up after we all listened to the Hoosier Hysterics podcast.  I apologize if I am being a little too much of a conspiracy theorist!  Just weird!

He has a big enough pair, but he has a bigger brain. If we want to make this season worse, a mid-season axe is the way.

The past weekend is only the tip of the iceberg. Why shouldn’t we believe the reports? They all paint the same picture of Mike Woodson. Are all these different people with similar stories about Mike Woodson lying?

No, I’m just the person who’s followed the program for decades and been around the University for just as long. Always enjoy the perspective of newer fans.

Those of you who have been around to see the program for a long time, and how successful it was, have certainly done ... a job ... in making it as successful as it is today. Good thing we always have the glory days right?

I honestly believe Woodson is too full of himself and he doesn't see the damage he is doing to both IU basketball and his legacy.  He doesn't act the least bit like a college basketball coach -- he's not out doing the dirty work 24/7 required to run a great program (see Cig).  He doesn't care to learn about the college game from those who have been it it longer than him -- he views critical advice as "disrespectful."  He had the chance last year to bow out gracefully saying "I have righted the ship, and it's time for the next guy."  Instead he attacked the fans and claims he did his job.

Absolutely none of this do you know to be a fact. I get the rumor and innuendo and your reliance on it as fact, but it’s still not anything you know to be true.

The program hasn’t been successful for 30+ years. One elite eight appearance since 1993. We’re constantly told that we need to be patient and that it takes time to build a basketball program. Meanwhile, Coach Cig takes over the worst P4 football program in the country and goes 11-1 his first season. Winners win. The football program has figured that out. The basketball program, not so much.

I gave it in my post that started your return -- he needs to announce retirement and go out on a high note via a "retirement tour."  Failure to do that risks a hostile assembly hall if things don't go as planned which looks a lot more possible than I originally thought 2 months ago.

Exactly, there’s no benefit to the program. Dolson will do his job, just like he did with football.

What’s your solution?

I get that Woodson doing this would make you feel better, but how does that make the program better?

What are you talking about, it is all 100% fact.  You yourself earlier said Woodson doesn't put in the hours that Cig does.  What college lifers has he brought in to help?  Zero, zilch, nada, nothing.  He brought his Pro buddy Armond hill instead.  And did he not say we are not "true fans" at last year's senior night?  That's 100% true.  Come on man.

Fire the loser that wasn’t good enough to get an interview at IUPUI

Maybe "identify breaks within the process that's caused us to make terrible hires for the last 20+ years and fix them."

Functionally, that might look like building a time machine to stop Quinn Buckner's rabid nepotism in installing Woody.

Or intervening at the end of last season to avoid the error of bringing him back for this season. Lol

Are you kidding me?  First, it prevents a hostile fan base.  The fans are looking forward knowing there is light at the end of the Woodson tunnel.  IU looks good taking care of "their guy" giving him a "hero's" send off.

It then allows Doslon to get to work and find the next Cig, so the program can hit the ground running full speed in April and the portal opens up, HS recruiting decisions are made, etc.
