But don't dare hire beard because some of our holier than though perfect humans on the other thread who have never done anything bad hate him. The holier than thou attitude of some is just unreal. Talk about people full of themselves.

I agree that IU tends to have a holier than thou mindset, but when UK and UL won't touch you then your issues are downright toxic.

By having Woodson’s status announced so early, we gave UM and plenty of other schools the opportunity to tie up their coaches before we could ever get to them. No matter with May as he said “No, thanks” a couple of weeks ago, but it’s why waiting until the season ends is the way we wanted to do it - and why MWs decision to check out was a middle finger to us.

UM wasn’t going to extend May if we waited til the end of the season to fire Bigfoot?

Thanks for sharing ... but doubt it's even remotely close to the truth...

The attitude of some of the coaching board is just unreal. They act like they have never swore in their life and beard is the second coming of the devil. I don't like people like that it's not up to me to judge others. And heaven forbid someone gets a second chance. That board is toxic imo.

1.  Does coach Woodson receive a lifetime season ticket/s upon his retirement…or do all ex players who completed their careers at IU already have lifetime passes?

2. If IU is unable to find an acceptable coach…does IU re-enter negotiations with coach Woodson?

3. Option:  Josh Schertz with $6,000,000 NIL

The lesson iu will never learn is you have to strike in a short window on guys like may. That was last year. Typical iu. We more than likely end up with someone like bronwell who had the one good year but a very average career. We may be doing this all over again in 5 years but he checks the squeaky clean box and imo that's priority number one to the iu admins.

Lol. This is 100% the wrong take in every possible way. Literally couldn’t be more wrong.

This is how it works. Any school that thinks they’re vulnerable, as UM did, gets to initiate extension discussions without the worry that May is talking directly with us. It played out exactly that way, which is why we never initiated Woodson’s departure.

 A couple questions,

1.  Was Woodson not aware of our procedure that we don’t evaluate and make decisions on coaches during the season?

2.  Why didn’t Woodson just quit effective immediately?

He wanted assurances so that the noise would die down, and we declined, saying we don’t evaluate mid-season. He thought he could strong arm this, and he couldn’t. He overplayed his hand, but he wasn’t forced to do that. He was just insecure.

Yep the king certainly left on his own. Guys with 6 million dollar rosters and 5-8 records never get fired. That king fully expected another year after his stellar coaching job.

Correct. He expected another year. That’s not exactly a secret.

So what are you saying?  That Dolson didn't tell him, directly or indirectly, that he would likely be let go at the end of the season, so Woodson just quit? Why would he quit?  He was under contract for next year.

He wanted a public promise that he was our coach past this year, and Dolson said we wouldn’t do that. He got no assurance from others in the daisy chain, even after he made noise that he would leave. His separation took shape from there. But it wasn’t how Dolson wanted it to go, and he knew if would hamper our search for his replacement, which it has (there’s a reason we didn’t boot Tom Allen after far, far worse performance, and Dolson remembers well how that aided him in his search).

This isn’t the only place that’s toxic when it comes to disagreements on candidates. There’s been good posters run off other forums because their opinions don’t match some of the other more outspoken ones. You would actually think the decision on a coach is going to change lives by the way some attack others. It’s just a coach. We are just fans. We aren’t judge and jury over these coaches being mentioned for the IUBB job. Whoever is hired WILL NOT please all IU fans. At this point, I can’t wait for the search to be over and the hire to be announced. I’m also very much looking forward to football season.

Hogwash.  Apparently Mike Woodson is the only person on the planet that didn’t think he would be gone at year end.  Michigan knew and knew what they had to do with may.  Miami just announced their hire.  People running big time athletic programs have very good “guesses” on who’s in and who’s out.  There are very few surprises.

People can say what they want I just find it comical some think they are judge and jury on others based on accusations. I'm sure they had Duke lacrosse locked away on day one too. Why I'm pretty much staying off that thread.

That be me and I want nothing to do with Beard.  I worked in an industry dominated by females and I saw too many come in to work with bruises and even broken arms because they "fell".  No other explanations, they just "fell".  Do not want Beard anywhere near our program.

I believe the number of DV cases that are dropped by the victim is around 70-80%. Sad.

People virtue signaling on the internet, and convincing themselves they have some sort of undeserved moral high ground, is the bane of actual conversation.
