I know how the buyout works and I expect quinn to give him more than the buyout

You also claimed to know what a Ponzi scheme is even though you didn't.

You're always excessively negative. You've said both that Woodson will get saved by lame duck Buckner for a 5th year and that he'll get paid more than his contract if he is let go. Neither will happen.

I don’t think it’s likely (at all) that we pry May from Michigan after one year, but I wouldn’t say that it’s a complete and total long shot. Not exactly apples to apples, but Roy Williams left Kansas for UNC… so… never say never.

Williams was at KU for over 15 years and had already turned UNC down once before taking the job.

The atmosphere will be electric tonight with the king roaming the sideline. Can't wait. Maybe his buddy who wears the Woody hat will be behind the bench.

Dolson didn't go cheap on the football hire and have already extended more money to the program

Sure it is. UNC was Roy's alma mater, IU is Dusty's.

Is that enough to amount to apples and oranges? Satisfied? Lol

I am saying it is a lot different because of the amount of time Williams spent at KU compared to the one year May has spent at UM. It was easier for Williams to leave thinking he has done his job at KU and was time for Jim to go back home

I think brad Steven's is more likely than Dusty! Dusty probably has a low buyout because michigan isn't stupid and knew he was a small gamble. Given he is having success in imagine if that continues a new contract will be done by end of February early March with a much higher buyout and compensation. Iu had a chance and that was last season! Michigan basketball is a elite program and if you succeed there you will be taken care of imo. No way he throws that away to come into this mess. Mess might not describe accurately how bad our situation is

If I’m the Michigan AD, I’m trying to renegotiate Dusty’s contract mid-season.  There’s a lot of angles to look at Dusty’s buyout.  Was it Dusty who wanted a low buyout or Michigan?  I’m guessing they’re going to push for a longer term contract, with more incentives with a higher buyout more comparable to what Alabama has with Oats.

Here’s to wishing that Dolson does have a “close” relationship with Dusty and some of these conversations are happening.

That said, everything I have heard is Dusty loves Michigan and has no desire to leave.  What else would he say to people back home?

We are agreeing Scott lol.

I started by saying it's not likely at all and ended with "never say never" ... neither of us think he's coming to IU right now.

Just sayin, not totally impossible. Don't overthink it... the simpleton you're talking to here sure doesn't :)

And there's absolutely no way we land May if we don't ask... make him say "no".

Michigan will give him whatever he wants assuming he has a good year. Iu will spend all it's money getting rid of the king and go cheap imo. It's the iu way.

Dolson can negotiate the buyout down... and the max hit is $1M/year... slow, drawn out payout... or... he could offer a lump sum lower amount ($8M at $1M/year OR $3M today and we're done)... Dolson has options.

If I remember correctly wasn't OK St being investigated by the NCAA and that was a big reason for that Underwood left

I doubled checked and looks like Underwood dipped because his lead assistant was charged with bribery by the FBI.

And it's possible that Dolson reaches out via back channels and gets a "handshake" agreement with May's people before Michigan can extend... no matter who are on Dolson's list, you can bet the farm that Dolson is already engaging those guys at some level.
