IU did willfully employ a coach for 20 years after being convicted of assaulting a cop though however.

You win. Let's hire the next up and comer assistant or an average coach who was born in Indiana. We'll be in the exact same spot we are when you guys are screaming for his exit in 2-3 years AGAIN.

Do you ever pay attention to college basketball besides IU. When was the last hire where a top power 5 conference coach left for another top power 5 conference job.

Did Duke and UNC both act like Blue Bloods when they hired an assistant coach with no HC experience. How about Syracuse or Villanova. UCONN hired a coach from Rhode Island

My man, I'm not justifying anything or anyone in the post. I'm saying people are flawed and we aren't going to find a perfect coach. We also looked past all of Knight's flaws because he won games. Lastly, a point that some are far worse than others, which is another point I was trying to make. No need to go to confession over it; there's no condoning of any behavior.

the story I read (maybe here) was that the "string" on the donor's funds may have been tied to hiring Stevens alone... Get him, here's the cash... if he says "no", give it back... meaning that the alleged $7M figure was ONLY for Stevens and when he said no, the cash was not available for another coach.

This will be the 4th program he’s taken to the tournament in 8 years. That’s one more than IU’s been altogether in the same time frame.
