Fire Coach Woodson Thread

None of this is rational or clear-headed. I get it, you’re a fan and emotional, but that’s not a great way to evaluate anything or make decisions.

You're the one melting down on this board. My position is Woody has performed poorly and should have been fired after last season.  That didn't happen, so he should be fired after this season.

It’s sorta sad that some intern is forced to spend their day defending Woodson online rather than getting real world experience like they are promised

Now that’s funny. Love it when newbie fans get upset because they don’t get their way. Not sure why you’re so angry.

We locked in on Miller, to the exclusion of anyone else and to the whispers that he wasn’t ready for a big time job. Quite a few people knew he was a long shot. Woodson was as ready as Miller, if not more so.

Okay, this has to be a troll.

Nope.

Miller had coached in a college program before. He had recruited. He had won. Woodson had done NONE of those... pretty much still hasn't.

I get that people want to win and that it’s not happening. They’re the same people that loved Crean and that thought Archie Miller was the right choice, as well. Hard to put much stock in what they say.

I get that people don’t want to win and that’s happening. They are  the same people that loved Ewing, Mullins and Stackhouse and thought  they were the  right choices as well. NBA guys with 0 college basketball coaching experience suck plain and simple.  It was a dumb route to go by the administration and IU is getting exactly what they deserve by hiring him

I would’ve been okay had he been fired then but I knew it wasn’t happening (I was attacked for saying that last Spring) and told everyone here that it wasn’t. I was only responding to the “Fire him now” people here today when you and a few others started stomping around in anger that he’s not being chased out of town immediately. I find it amusing and indicative of our “new” fan base. Just the reality of big time college sports today.

He is helping run the program into the ground and apparently he doesn't care enough to put in the work to actually change course.

His scheme sucks and he refuses to change it. The game planning looks terrible time after time so the team often looks unprepared. The players look undisciplined. The players look unmotivated. HS recruiting is almost non-existent.

Getting blown out by teams with a pulse. Closer than they should be games against lesser teams.

Those things take time and effort. Just looking at those things gives the impression that that effort isn't being made. Then there are the many stories which back that up. Hell, after a loss a picture was posted that night of him sitting around with his buddies smoking cigars and drinking wine which gives the appearance that the losses don't bother him.

When we lose, we get the same excuses over and over again which indicates that there isn't any real assessment being done of what is going wrong and how to fix it.

So what is he doing that shows he actually loves the program and doesn't want his legacy to be a bad one? I don't see it.

As for Buckner, is he not watching the games? Is he no longer able to tell the difference between good basketball and bad basketball? The problems with the team should be obvious as they're the same problems that have plagued them for the first 3 years under Woodson.

Right.  Cig blows a team up by 66 points and says the offense missed a few opportunities.  LOL.

In the NIL era? Over Woodson? Absolutely

Yeah with an assistant that's focused on defense and even add a GM type role then I'd take Crean all day over Woodson. Woodson makes Crean look like Matt Painter in terms of coaching.

Oh Brass. You and your uncontrollable anger... calling things "sorta sad."

Gotta learn to control that rage, brother.  ;)
