But the more I think about it, the more it's reminding me of all the "soft landing" talk when Crean was here. All this talk about how people behind the scenes were trying to help him get a job lined up so he could resign and transition to his next gig. Not only was he fired, but he didn't coach for a year, so it was likely just a bunch of fabricated garbage.

Exactly.  It's absurd to think Dolson had any communication with the staff about an interim plan.  He may have talked with Whitten and some others in the AD department, but it's strickly a "what if" conversation.

Simply put….that’s not true.  Too many guys are stuck not realizing what a resume looks like for the 10 and 11 seed teams in the tournament.  An 11-9 finish would give IU 9 quad 1/2 wins and 20 games against quad 1/2 competition and zero losses below quad 2.  As it stands right now, IU doesn’t have any losses that aren’t quad 1.  While blow out losses are bad, the committee hates Q3/4 losses more.

So long as he wasn't sending dic pics, the "emails" sound like more noise.  

He's free to criticize the coach and situation, express unhappiness, look for greener pastures next year, etc.  And the coaches are free to bench him if they find out and don't like it.  However, it should also trigger some self reflection when someone under your tutelage feels a certain way.

Well without details, I have no other choice but to call BS.  I can trust, but I do need to verify.  Dropping a bomb like thar that and not providing anything makes me suspicious.  My guess is whomever is feeding you the story is embellishing.  But who knows. Everything is a secret.
