My man Brian Butch got it right:

We had two fouls to give, which forced Iowa into a low shot clock, difficult shot; but using that strategy when we would have gotten the ball back with 6.5 seconds if we hadn’t given fouls is not the better option.

Worse was that the previous possession we had at 55 seconds and could have went two for one.  Even a bad, rushed shot on the first possession is better than letting it go one possession each.

Good first half.  Rough last couple minutes but, overall satisfaction.  I just.  I really don’t like some of the lineups we played in the last 5 min.  It’s malpractice.  I can’t understand the need to have set combinations of guys who play the same shift every outing.  Anyway, nice having Kel’el back.  Hope Malik is ok.

I'm fully convinced at this point that he doesn't actually know what he's doing, so he turns to his experience in the NBA because it's what he's most comfortable with.

Also, if you’re going to give fouls (still dumb) why not actually go for a steal and try to get a cheap basket? It’s basically the same concept as end of game pressing/fouling. What are we solving by just half-assed grabbing somebody?

Typically the rotation gets smaller in the second half.  Expecting we won’t see Gunn and Sparks may only get a minute or two.

If reneau doesn’t come back we might see sparks. He played ok on defense and could give ware a few minutes.

Can’t see Gunn getting much time. Not cupps either if leal is feeling it

Around 4:30, I thought it was interesting. Gunn was on the wing and moved to the corner when Gallo came over. Gallo told him to go to the other side, so he runs baseline to the other side. XJ then frustratingly waves him off telling him to go back where he came.

Glad Leal is playing well. I'll never understand our rotations. Up 11 is good, nice half overall. Should be more. 20 games into the season and still figuring out our personnel. I guess if we string together a run we can make something of the season. But no confidence in that.

Hope Malik is okay.

But at the same time, Woody puts Mgbako on the only guy on Iowa worth guarding. I don't know.

Remember when, in crunch time, Mgbako was guarding Kevin f*****g McCullar?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.
