Feels like the crowd at SSAH is usually able to will the team into at least keeping it competitive, up to a certain point anyway. Auburn was so deflating... We can't lose to the 3 big brand name non-conf opponents all by 20+. Totally embarrassing. Can you really call it "making a statement" if we just manage to lose by 10 or less? With the B10 being down, we can still make the tournament but we're not making it easy on ourselves. I think what was most disappointing about Auburn was just how brutally it exposed the deficiencies we already knew were there. We just don't have the horses in the backcourt this year to be a real threat. It can still be an entertaining/good season. All is not lost. At the same time.......... better learn from this past cycle and make sure we wrap the spring cycle with a balanced roster, equipped for the modern game. Guards and wings. Repeat: guards and wings.... [please] BGleas and Home Jersey 2 Quote

It would probably even increase or efficiency rankings given how poor they are now. I saw a stat the other day that Kansas has beat the most ranked teams in the last ten years or something. Out of all the teams coming into Assembly Hall, I think they’ll be the least intimidated. On the flip side, the one area of possible hope I see is that KU won't be fully ready after watching us get blown out by Auburn, while our guys should be fully prepared and motivated, while backed by the AH crowd. I wish we had scheduled last year's game at home and this year's away. We weren't winning at their place no matter when it was played, and I would have given last year's team a better chance of winning at home. The people in charge of our non-con schedule haven't exactly been strategic with their moves so I guess this didn't really register with them. IU_FanClub and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote

I know I've probably already beat a dead horse with this quote but I find it relevant and will probably continue to beat it into the ground lol. "I came back to win national titles and big ten titles." That in my opinion means there should be no moral victories. I know this years team is not a national title contender and that is fine we lost a ton from last year. However, you don't schedule a home and home with Kansas with the expectation of keeping it close at home, you schedule it with the expectation of winning. I don't care if we lose by 1 point, winning should be the only outcome this Saturday that matters because that is the expectation that Woody has put on the record in multiple press conferences and frankly that is what should be expected of this program. It's time to act like big boys and go get a win. I'm tired of our biggest wins being on the recruiting trail for big men and small forwards lol. 8bucks 1 Quote
Dave from Dayton Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Say it isn't so, Bruce. USA Today Claims Auburn Basketball Used Video Cameras to Spy on Opponent Practices - Sports Illustrated Auburn Tigers News, Analysis and More Shocked, not shocked. Sad. We should use this excuse for 2023. I mean, how would Auburn have any idea that Ware backs away when clobbered and refs swallow their whistle? And how the heck would Auburn know that Xavier was hurt and a freshman guard was going to start? Furthermore, one cannot believe that a crystal ball was used to predict that IU only went inside. And lo and behold, one must just believe that Auburn got lucky that IU would not defend the 3. They had to be peeking at our practices in order to divine our intentions. That or someone gave them our playbook. Sheesh... Most rational persons would likely perceive that this is a parody. But, then again, most rational persons do not read self-flagellating threads one week after being hammered. Speaking of getting hammered...where did I put that shaker of salt? go iu bb, Whoozhers, IUFAN1976 and 1 other 4 Quote
