trilly has a discord for 6 bucks a month
According to Trilly something rub his camp the wrong way but said a lot to play out.
Kansas offered  500k to Flory and house for parents and jobs

Figures. Not great but whatever.

Flory was always gonna be a dirty recruitment. I selfishly wanted him but I’m also curious to see how that translates as a freshman. He’s not overly long. He could be a bit like Oscar Tschiebwe at Flory’s high end. Or it could be a work in progress.

I’m confused. Something rubbed flory’s camp the wrong way or Sanon’s?

I’m fine with these guys getting paid, but I also want them to not primarily be shilling for a paycheck.
For purely a paycheck I prefer a 22 year old with a proven track record.

Oh, I agree 100%.

The pay/perks is a baseline starter point for a quality player though.

Also, I’d rather not sell our whole program out for a few stars. Definitely important to get the right guys with the right mentality.

I think the transfer portal carries far more value than the freshman.

Earlier today Vermont Academy defeated Brewster Academy 75-57.  Sanon poured in 40p and 8r.  He was 11-19 FG; 8-11 on 3s; and 10-11 FT.  28 of his points came in the 2nd half.  At one point he made 4 consecutive 3-pointers.  Although he's not a priority target at this point, I thought this kind of performance was worth mentioning.

Sounds exactly what we need, why isn't he a priority

I have said this a few times. Even if you don’t think I have any info…. Just use some logic.

Woody said this more than once - paraphrasing  - “I don’t do the NIL talk. I want guys who want to be here. I tell them how much other guys have made and they know they can do well here but I have no interest in kids where that is a priority. I also don’t guarantee things - you come in, you work, you want to do the work, all will work itself out.”

when you see guys like Daquan, Sanon, Love, etc go from hot to cold fast, it is handlers and/or parents pushing for lots of guarantees. Some school will do it, Woody won’t.

Normally and in theory I fully agree with this from a roster compatibility standpoint but Woody’s Ways aren’t cooking too hot as of Late. He might want to reconsider a few things before next season because he has errored in a multitude of ways.

Do you want him to guarantee kids money and playing time?

I want him to win. Other coaches figure it out with star players.

I think Woody's philosophy is, "Come here to play and learn basketball and get an education. And while you're here? When you get paid really well that's your good news, not my business."

Trying to avoid the Shannon Sharpe "I'll go wherever they pay me best" attitude.

I'm with Woody. It's part of building a team; not individuals with a "get mine" attitude on and off the court.
