It's not far fetched... didn't Ballo get more than $1.5M? He didn't get quite that much. But if Mullins was getting 750K from UCONN that would be barely in the starting 5 for us. So we can beat that easily. lillurk and thebigweave 2 Quote

Rumor was more like $1.2 or $1.25 from what some 'insiders' were posting....think it started at $1, Arkansas was trying to bring him in, IU sweetened the deal. But today's $1.25 million is probably going to be next year's $1.75 to $2 million. NIL increasing incredibly fast each year. thebigweave 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Pretty sure the Indiana University NIL program can afford this: As of October 2024, Carl Cook, the CEO of Cook Group, has an estimated net worth of $10.7 billion. This makes him the wealthiest person in Indiana and the 89th richest person in the United States. If the Cooks receive a 3% return on investment in their current net worth? That interest alone is worth $300 million annually. Moreover; Mr. and Mrs. Cook are not our only 'basketball friendly' donors (but they are the ones that still live in Bloomington). BA47591 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I know Pete Yonkman is our unofficial CEO and GM. I know that they want to give Woody every possible advantage to win. It has come with a list of expectations. I don't know if Ol' Pete is uber competitive too or he just wants to have a clear conscience if he has to fire Woody. Either way the NIL has more than tripled since Parker Stewart, Kopp and Durr. I think it's starting to turn into the old Southwest Conference in football if you're willing to pay a kid 1.5 mil and give his parents whatever just to stay home. 1.5m,,,we got our new back court for that. Yeah, we're doing an awful lot just to avoid firing a legacy coach. thebigweave 1 Quote

Scotty R Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I know Mullins is a very good player but is he worth all of this bidding if true. I know his dad is a police so are we offering him to be head of security or something like that Quote

These “experts” just wait until the last minute when it’s known by everyone. That’s stupid that anyone can change a pick at the last second. That’s why it’s pointless. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote
