That is the definition of an argument from ignorance.

If he thinks there is a chance Woodson won't be here then he will have second thoughts about IU. I guarantee you I have seen and know more about IU basketball than you do.

Let's say a guy in Colorado was arrested and sent to prison for selling Marijuana. It is his 2nd offense so the send him to prison. Today Marijuana is legal so should that guys record be cleared. Should he automatically get let out because it is legal now.

Yes? That's the right answer right? I mean why would I want tax payers floating the bill for a guy to be incarcerated for a crime that isn't a crime?

So keep Woodson because we might lose a prospective recruit who hasn’t even committed yet!?!?

This is exactly why IU basketball has been in the crapper the last 20 years.

How sure are you that he actually did that?  Before accusing him. Do you really know what happened?  No you DONT!  WTF!

He clearly doesn't care he made up his mind he did it and he is guilty as charged in his eyes. He hates beard and nobody is changing his mind. He probably had the Duke lacrosse guys guilty from day one as well. To heck with due process .

Scott - I have had my own disagreements with you before but got to tell you, I had this exact conversation with someone the other day.
I would hope the more rational yet frustrated fans will think about this. Some will say “this is our strength” - maybe. But it is the biggest constant through multiple coaches and admins.
Goodman said this last time and it ticked everyone off. He said “IU fans are completely unrealistic and don’t understand where they stand now. Whoever they hire, there better give them real time.”
Regardless of what someone who I refuse to engage with says - every player is on social media. Every recruit is. When a narrative of anger develops. When every tweet is about firing Woody. Recruits see it and players feel it. Don’t kid yourself that some visit boards too. That doesn’t make them “soft” - it makes them want to avoid it and go to a better option and be a hero.
If we lose Liam, Queen etc. it won’t be because they are not wanting to play for Woody or work through the bad. Players don’t care about bad seasons. They always think they can be the answer. But they don’t want to play in an environment where it is becoming a common thing to boo our players at home etc.
now everyone roast me for being soft too haha

Win games and you are beloved as much or more as any player/coach in the country. Lose games and play poorly, you might get a little heat. Shoot 50% from free throw line, you might get a little pressure.

I’d hope you are putting pressure on yourself when the results are inadequate.

It’s risk/reward. Top 5 Biggest stage in basketball.

This fanbase only really turns when we miss the tournament. That’s the expectation. That shouldn’t be too high of a bar.

The results are what they are. The fanbase reaction is just the personification of the results.

Yes, I do. It is very common for player ranked around his level to wait until junior year to shine.

Also funny to me the - well, the run a modern offense you see. They also have been winning recruit after recruit. All that to equal… a lose in this game and losing season so….

Mizzou is 8-10 this year. Leaving IU because the fans are too “mean” is the exact kind of move I expected out of Tamar. At least he’s getting shots up this year.

Just another example of catering to a recruit. “Don’t be mean to the coach because we might lose a recruit”

Culture, culture, culture people. We have have a very soft and fostering one.

I don't like it either but welcome to college basketball in 2024. With NIL and the portal the players have the upper hand. It is the same in the be pros where the star players pretty much tells you who they do or don't want to play with.

I’ll assure you coaches like Sampson, Beard, Pearl, Self etc aren’t letting the players call the shots.

No he shouldn't because he knowingly committed a crime that he knew was against the law.

I didn't say keep him but I don't think it is a coincidence that he decided not to commit last week

I don't hate him and if  this thing didn't happen then I would be all in for us to hire him. The thing is if this didn't happen then we wouldn't have a chance to get him because his dream job was Texas

Or maybe he watched the way this team played and was coached this last week…

Ever think of that? I wouldn’t want to commit to this shitshow either

If it is about making the tournament why is there a topic about firing Woodson since he has went to the tournament in both of his seasons here.
